badshee Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 i have a 421 cub and i am experiencing really oily stuff coming out of my exhaust and around my header and were the stingers meet the pipes... my jetting is pretty lean as of yesterday and im working on that now, but i read on the web that its gas mixing with condensation/fluid.... it was not doing this wiht my fmfs on there and now i have cpis so i dont know whats going on.... the motor has been completly redone from the ground up and it was doing this even before the rebuild and new seals and all that... any help and your opinions would be appreciated.. thanks Quote
5150banshee Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 what r u mixing at mine did that when i was running 36 to 1 so no i run 40 to 1 and it stopped it just means too much oil. Quote

350BANSHEE350 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 probably a heavy mix with oil or it could be the seals for the header which are only $8 and maybe new springs for the pipes too your packing might be gone which can cause some oil outta the silencer and where the pipes connect could be needing new claps and bushing or rubber seal things good luck Mike Quote

r/atvshee Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Maybe a dumb question but did you put the o-rings in the headers. I mix my cub at 32:1 and the jetting is rich and it still doesnt spit oil from the headers or where the stingers connect. Quote

Handyman Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 mine does the same thing at 32:1....It stops when I'm shooting the hill Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 My CPI's tend to expel more oil out the silencers, than my FMF's did, and I don't know why. Maybe it's just the nature of the beast. Mine don't leak at the motor-o-ring coupling, but I did put new o-rings in, and I'm still running stock cylinders. Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Sure your motor is sealin up right? Did you do a pressure test? Are you fouling plugs? I dont like over diagnosing but i might as well ask before it comes up later, if your not fouling plugs and your just getting soem oil out of the o ring seal then get new o rings, maybe some RTV sealant around the couplings??? badshee Posted June 20, 2007 Author Report Posted June 20, 2007 no i have not done a pressure test, but i really need to but no im not fouling any plugs and honestly its really lean... had WAY TO SMALL mains in it, so went up and havent had a chance to run it yet...... Quote
Mullet Man Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 ehh, just put 3 or 4 catch cans in various places on the quad, problem solved....might even be able to reuse it. Quote
