jlsparky7 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Im going to be taking the lid off my airbox soon when I get my pipes hooked up. The problem I have is the lid holds the K&N down to keep it from poping out. Should I drill a couple holes in the box and use bolts/nuts to hold the airfilter on? (through the white plastic ring of course, not the filter its self) Quote

BenBB Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Yes bolt it in there, just like the billet ones with two bolts at the top (I used 1/4" x 1"). The stock cage works surprisingly well, I was going to get a billet one like I have on mine for my son's but once you bolt it up it works great, and ya can't beat the price heh. Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 Check this out, saw it a while ago. This is what the others above are referring to. It looks like it works well! http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...4&hl=airbox Quote

BellicoseBanshee Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Yes, the airbox would need to be removed to use pod filters. If you ride in a wet environment, it is a good idea to keep the airbox and run with no lid, or cut and screen the lid, or vent the box, or whatever. I prefer pods, but I do not see much water. Quote
jlsparky7 Posted May 27, 2007 Author Report Posted May 27, 2007 I see water, mud, dirt, gravel, and sand. Do a lot of sandy/wet trail riding, so I dont wanna go with pods. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 Why don't you just get the K&N kit with the filters that come off each carb and get rid of the airbox totally. If your planning on taking the lid off and don't want the double filters cause of water and such your still gonna get a shitload of crab in there. The outerwears work good too. Quote
bansheeyfz Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 when i had my stock setup i drilled mine to the airbox. i would just shell out the money and but the plate for it. Quote
