felcon edition banshee Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 i use to have a blaster, put trinaty pipes on and couldent find sant tires so i sold it. its a good price i say go for it i mean just get new engine for like 3000$ and u got a perfectly good quad i mean dont under estamate them, a lightly modded 1 aginst a stock banshee they where neck and neck (mostly coz the guy on the banshee sucks lol) they really r good bikes i say buy it =P Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 Awsome deal man for 4-500 bucks you can have that baby running. Its also an awesome bike for girls. Quote
nunyabinness Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 project blaster is ok but this forum http://s14.invisionfree.com/Blaster_riders/index.php in my opinion is much better. ToTech (Sprntr81 on here) is a kick ass blaster motor builder. he is over on that forum. Quote
96_banshee_96 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 $100 is a steal does it come with the title to? Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 100 bucks is a real good price. Good luck with the build Quote
. Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 definitely a good deal man. What year is it? Make sure the brakes are working on it. Even if they arent its still a good deal. The rear brake will always go bad, its a pos, but as long as the fronts work, and even if you have to rebuild them you'll be ahead of the game. I bought one with a shattered piston for 300 bucks. Pulled the engine and cleaned the bottom out as good as possible (piece was wedged in the bottom holding the crank still). Threw a new top end on it and rode the piss out of it until I got tired of not being able to keep up with my buddies on it (still had a 250R 3wheeler when we really went riding), and then sold the R and the blaster and bought the banshee. It's definitely a good quad to start out on, especially if you're gonna play with 2 strokes. I'd say see how bad that crank is, if you have to, buy a good used one, throw a new top end on it and go off riding. A bigger carb, reeds, and pipe do it wonders. Quote
IROOST1 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Good Deal, i just picked one up last month for 175 bucks with a title, just needed a top end. So far, it got a new chain, a 28pwk, new cables, new levers. And soon it will have hydralic disk brakes....... Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted May 24, 2007 Author Report Posted May 24, 2007 yeah it has a title I believe its a 96. One of my friends bought it for 1500 sold it two months later to my other friend and he blew it up twice in about 6 months. It has a kehin carb on it and the idiots were running a pod filter in the muddy trails. It was to wet to run numerous times. Neither knew how to jet I had to do it for them it ran pretty good when it was first purchased after I got the jetting figured out but then my other buddy got it and messed it all up. Front breaks are ok rears werent too good. Tires are hole shots not to bad probably 60% left and it has a bill's pipe. When it was running it was a fun quad. But now my friend is frustrated with it and bought a 400ex and it just sits in peices. Can I use my stock shee carb on this or should I keep the kehin. Not sure what size it is a pj though. I will probably build a air box too. Quote
. Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 I'd stick with the keihin. It's probably bigger ( I think they came stock with a 26, same as a banshee) Sounds like a good quad, just needs some cleaning up and some tlc Quote
nunyabinness Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 yes a stock banshee carb will work (its basically the same carb) but why would you do that? if the keihin carb works good then i would stick with it. Quote
