The only way you will reach 100 mph is with some serious gearing changes.

Agreed. But he'll also need something more than pipes and a filter to get it to pull that kind of gearing, unless he's got a couple mile stretch to get it there, LOL!

What kind of riding do you do that requires you to hit 100mph?

i goin to buy it with pipe and filters. i wanted to know what work i can do to it to get it to run around that range, but i want to still run on pump gas. i do alot of trail riding and racing when on trails

Being honest, you should ride the bike first, find out if it has enough power for you, and if it doesn't, mod it accordingly. Do not be concerned with going 100mph, cause I guarantee you will never see 100mph in a trail, period.

My drag bike doesn't do 100mph, but I guarantee it'll smoke anything you'd be racing in the trails...do you catch my drift?

In that case you should work on suspension. One little dip at 100mph and you're done! Hell even 60 thru an open field is gonna be scary on stock suspension!

100mph is pretty rare on a quad. Really there's not much point since the terrain rarely lends itself to those kinds of speeds. Even the highly modified drag bikes rarely see 100mph, and the ones that do are usually for use on pavement or at least a groomed track. I'm not even sure you can get 100mph on pump gas - maybe with nitrous? For trails you'll use more of the low/mid range but you're talking about building a bike that is all top end. In other words, you'll never make a bike that's good for trails but can do 100mph once you hit the fields.

I agree with the previous post. Try riding the shee first, I'm betting that you'll pucker before it even tops out in 6th gear.

I agree with all of them. I used to ride trails a lot and im a pretty damn good rider and i was lucky to get threw 3rd gear. Even some big ass fields 6th can get a little hairy. Id say try it out and get suspension first. I have a feeling you'll be surprised with the power it has as it sits now.

pipes, porting, shaved head, timing plate, reeds

Ah, I think I understand. You and your buddies are comparing bikes by how fast they go? If that is the case, in the ATV world, acceleration is what you need, not top speed. You are best with stock gearing with pipes and 20in tires. You wanna put the hurt on your buddies, invest in REAL tires!!! Seriously, I cannot tell you how many holeshots I have pulled in my racing days by just studying a track and selecting the proper tires. I feel there is no better line than the holeshot tire. They have several but they all will smoke your stockers and you will need to hook if you want to play with thumpers on grass and dirt. Bet on it.
