i recently had surgery and bought an '01 banshee off my cousin to give me something to do while i'm healing up. problem is that the banshee is in pieces, and not just a few pieces. every nut, bolt, o-ring, and oil seal was removed. the good thing is that i was looking for a project and that's definitely what i got. it was taken down to the frame and the frame was powdercoated and the previous owner who had it before my cousing raced banshee's for a living so when he got rid of them he gave my cousin a big box of aftermarket parts brand new in their boxes to go with it. i paid $650 for everything he had and that included a set of Cool Heads brand new in the box which i see are about $300. so i don't think i did too bad. anyways my question is pretty simple: included was stainless steel bolt kit for the banshee but that does not include certain bolts i'm finding out. is there any other place to purchase these bolts (upper a-arm, swing arm, lower motor mount, foot peg bolts) other than from yamaha. i already purchased the two upper a-arm bolts with washers and nuts from yamaha to the tune of $33 which i find a little salty for just two bolts. any info and direction for cheaper parts will be greatly appreciated.

also this site is very informative and i've consulted with it several times in the past weeks and have found my answer every time so far. thank you in that regard.

i'm gonna give rockymountainatv.com a try. all depends on their shipping prices. i've found a lot of cheaper sites on the internet but after shipping prices it ends up being about the same as going to the local yamaha shop and just ordering from them. i've also tried a few places on ebay and everyone of them so far has all said the same thing, 'they don't offer the bolts i'm looking for and it's too expensive to have them made.'

thanks for the replies,

Well I just went to my local True Value and they have the best stock of metric and stainless nuts and bolts. They are usually 5-6 times cheaper than the stealer. I lost some lug nuts and Yami wanted $4.99 a piece and I went in there and got three nuts and four washers for $1.85, which beat the hell out of $15 bucks...............

when you go to places like true value or lowes make shore on the grade of bolt you are getting try fastenal and ask for grade 8 bolts on suspension parts wouldnt want any cheap bolts to brake and cause you to crash

The best site for any OEM parts is www.browardmotorsports.com They have just about everything you want just look up what part and where at on the bike and boom. Now the only drawback is that when you order i would order all the parts at the same time cause shippng is the same price if you order one bolt or screw or a bunch of bolts and screws........

But try that site out and let me know what you think...... www.browardmotorsports.com
