jayzx10r Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 What should I do as far as storage maintenence for my Banshee? I'm not going to ride it until it cools off after summer so what do you recommend? I have a cover and I have the weight off the suspension. Can you store these standing up on their rear wheels/grab bar? It would take up a lot less room in my garage if I could. In fact...I was wondering if you can transport to the riding area with them stranding up like this? \\\\Thanks for the info//// Jay From SanD. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 Hmmmm that's a good one, to be honest with you i never really thought about standing it up and leaving it like that. I don't think it would hurt it leaving it on the suspension though just put a cover over it and wait til next season. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 O yeah forgot to say nice Shee  Quote
felcon edition banshee Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 1. nice shee 2. start it once a week and keep a cover over it Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 That's one thing i don't have to worry about, it don't get cold enough for me to put it in storage and not ride it. There are some good things about Beamont, Tx...lol Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 MAn , I'd still ride it in the summer, just not in the sand. But yes, I would start it once in a while to get the seals loobed and the gas won't jell up.............. Quote
theshee Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Sand dune season over?? I havent even ridden yet and your done?? Just ride in the heat! Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I wanted to ask you how your gonna haul your banshee standing up on it's grab bar...You better have some hella straps on that baby. Quote
bansheerage Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 well if you store it standing up which i do alot you should make sure the fuel is out of the carbs and depending on how long the tank also. it will leak out. Quote
baddsheee Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Sand dune season over?? I havent even ridden yet and your done?? Just ride in the heat! I don't think you understand how HOT it gets over here at the dunes! But I would say throw the dirt tires on and find other spots to ride, when it gets really hot I go early in the morning b4 it heats up. Quote

It is dang near as bad here in wyo. Get 6000 feet closer to the sun and it is flat hot, not to mention the sunburn you get. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 lol the 6000 feet closer make no differance... you have a good breeze come to glamis in august you will fukin die out there.... it gets 130 ez. Quote

Seriousley that 6000 feet makes a difference on a sunburn. When I was in hawaii on my honeymoon I never got burned at all. When we guide hunters here they about die from the sunburns they get. Heat really doesnt bother me, when its 110 here I have long sleeves on so I dont burn. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 yea the sunburn for sure would suck... im irish so i fukin fry... but can not stand heat... and 130 is out of control... its so hot that ever riding your getting heat stroke. it feels like you open and over and blow all the heat in your face for the entire day... SoCalinIt Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 What's up Jay... You can leave your Banshee standing up as long as you want... Here are a couple of rules I follow for storing my Banshee... 1. Drain all the gas out of the tank. 2. Make sure the carbs do not have fuel in them 3. Stand it up 4. Put a cover on it Wait for Cali dune season... Season comes... Change fluids, add gas. I transport my Z400 standing up all the time. The only thing to think about is if the fuel tank is toped off, it will leak the whole drive to your spot. The bike that's rested against it will be covered in fuel. Oh yeah, you live in SanD... make your way up to Pismo... It's not Glamis or Dumont, but it's a little sand box to tool around in. Just my .02 Quote
