cam2 Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 would anybody tell me how to get the chain off my bmx bike?there is the odd looking link on the chain so how do i disconnect it to have a split chain and put it on another bike thanks for the help the odd looking link is most likely the master link. it's been a loooooooooong time since i've worked on a bicycle. but if i remember correctly that should pop off with the aid of a screw driver and possibly a hammer. it probably doesn't have a retaining clip like a motor cycle chain has. KaosBanshee44 Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Yeah i'm having the same problem with my Shee, i ordered the aftermarket chain slider, new chain, new front and rear sprockets and for the new chain i'm gonna have to bring it to our local cycle shop and have him put it on cause i don't have the tool to take links out. i'm pissed.
