Flanagans twin Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 hey there fellow shee lovers, just wondering what exactly a TORS setup is and what it will do for me? if its a twist throttle i dont want it..... thanks! Quote
chevy7398 Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 its the throttle over ride system, it comes on it from the factory, what you want to do is remove it. a few places sell tors removal kits gets rid of a bunch of crap on the bike, alot cleaner lok and less electrical to fail on ya Quote
Handyman Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 DO NOT BUY A TORS SET UP. TORS is pain in the ass and is usually the root of all problems on the banshee. TORS(Throttle Over Ride System) Stay away from this....Do a search on here and you will find all the info you need to know....especially why all banshee owners get rid of theirs as soon as they can. chevy7398 Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 its also the wires going into your parking brake lever and the wires going into your thumb throttle, when you buy a removal kit it comes with a new throttle cable and carb caps and a tap and drill bit and new idle screws, yu basically take all that crap of, throw it in the trash, pull your carbs off to drill and tap the idle screw holes, put the carbs back on adjust the throttle cable and your done Quote

J-Madd Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 (edited) what is it going to do for me? all i have read about is that it will elimnate the stuck throttle thinger.... what for me performance/better riding wise? thanks Here's how it could help you go faster: Buy it and use it as a sinker for your fishin' pole :yelrotflmao: and eat lots of fish. That could help make you lighter, as fish is a healthy diet  . And your power to weight ratio would be better. Nah, seriously there is nothing good at all about TORS . Flanagans twin Posted April 27, 2007 Author Report Posted April 27, 2007 haha thanks man, appreciate the posts your giving me! haha, good man, good man, but i meant what kind of performance will the TORS removal give me? thanks again. Quote
dwrracing Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 so what u are saying is the tors removal kit isnt worth buying???????? i was going to get it please inform me!! Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 (edited) The tors kills the spark if the throttle cable gets stick or the slides in your carbs get stuck. So if you take it off and your cable gets stuck your bike will just rev outta control and you will have to kill the ignition to stop. If you leave the tors on then it will kill the spark by itself and you bike will die. It is a safety device. Taking them off will add NO performance. Some guys say they cause trouble with the electrical. I never had problems with mine, and I don;t have mine anymore cause I bought a single carb kit. The throttle cable design on the stock cables or any dual carb cables suck. They can hang up easily. Edited April 27, 2007 by Hollister_Hitman Quote
