I remeber a while back hearing about a style of cuting into the domes to alow the frame front to move from through the squash zone.... not sure if my wording is right here. the one i saw was on a RM125 head. any one else seen or heard about this

here is kind of what im talking about, the one i saw had deeper groves and they didnt coil out. they where straint and alot deeper!

think this is a lot of BS or what do you guy thing?

looks like an easier way to create hot spots for detonation. probley supposed to create a swirl effect for better atomization, but I dont think it would work in the domes like that. Thats more of a port job to do that. I do think however that Trinity suck ass.

It was well over a year ago when i read the arctical about the style of proting as i remember it, he talked about how the frame front was able to prgress to the squash band faster and. or somthing. i know it had nothing to do with fuel atamization.

also im working on finding parts for my motor. and you say that trinity sucks ass... what about the cheetah cylinders are they made my trinity or just sold by them. I was thinking about going with the 421cc kit (4+mm) any thoughts

cheetahs are killer. You can buy them from almost any good aftermarket dealer. Im going to build a cheetah motor when I begin my drag bike. Did I forget to mention trinity sucks ass?

When you read the description and what they say is wrong, I won't ever bother with the product and the compagnie. Playing with the squish band is something that can be fatal to you're engine, I don't know those head. But for hemispherical head, if is something wrong or something with your engine that doesn't fit, you're piston/ring/wristpine/rod will suffer.

Go with a real builder, not the supermarket of performance part. That's the same price and cheaper.

We have been doing this custom head mod with great results. It does work when done correctly. There is a bit more to it than cuts in the squish band. Velocities and pressures must be carefully tuned. We have many very happy racers using our heads. I cannot speak for trinity because our design is far different. All bikes especially alky and big bore bikes really show a difference with the head. We have been doing this mod for about 5 years now.

I have been using a head by Mull Engineering for about a year now with no problems. I had a 21cc coolhead before but it kept leaking so I had them make a higher compression stock head that I could use with race gas. The bike really woke up and has a bunch more throttle response. It also has not fouled any plugs since I made the switch. They said something about the squish velocity and that was what they were tuning. Not sure but they work. They also ceramic coated it so that might be some of it.

The major problem with aftermark head, when a costumer who doesn't know a thing about 2stroke. If his engine is like his squish 1,4mm and end with a 0.04 and a piston +0.04. We have a probleme here.

I know theirs heads is suppose to handle this problem, I don't know the answer....

But what does '' grove porting'' stand for?

I dont really understand what you where saying i think you where talking about having the piston running into the head. but i not really sure. a bit hard to understand what you where saying.

as for the grove porting i just didn't know what it was really called at the time so i just kind of jumbled some word together and called it good

That's right

Why would having you head milled or modified cause the piston to hit the head? I guess if someone cuts the head and does not know what they are doing, that might happen. My head with the velocity vanes does not cause any problems and has never hit a piston.
