sheefreak Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Not sure why you are geared that much lower than stock but I run a 15-42 in sand w/compareable power. If you don't want to get rid of your 45 rear get a 16 for the front. Will be close to the same gear ratio. Quote

locogato11283 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 use this gearing chart to get it just where you want it..id say you need to get back to closer to 14/41.. Gearing Chart Quote
theshee Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I am at 15-44 right now and am going to 15-45 when my new sproket gets here. I like how it runs the little ive ridden it. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I'd be thinking about 16/41 or 42. Especially if you're running pavement (1/8 or 1/4 I presume) May also want to think about a wheelie bar, and play with the air pressure as well. You are using street slicks, right? With that motor and knobbies, you're gonna be spinning on pavement no matter what you do till 3rd gear..... Quote

I'am running on cement and at the dunes and the ice in the winter. My builder told me to go with a 15/39 set up. Going to try it. I also have 15/41 and 15/45 what do you guys think out of my 3 choices would be all around best fit. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 15/41.... 15/39 might dog a bit in sand, 15/45 is almost the same at 13/42...too low, nothing but wheel spin and shifiting gears too fast. Quote

FireHead Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 use this gearing chart to get it just where you want it..id say you need to get back to closer to 14/41.. Gearing Chart I agree. I doubt that setup is putting more than 70hp to the ground. Quote
