DMP Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Would this swingarm be strong enough for MX? Im pretty concerned about it, but would like to know if anybody owns one of these too. Thanks. Click Me Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 i would say no. ive bent stronger swingarms than that just hittin the 4 foot jumps at our hillclimbs. i wouldnt trust that thing jumpin at all. Quote

Click Me I have a +2 from them. I don't MX with it but it has stood up to a pretty good beating so far in the pits and trails. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Yeah, if I was going to be doing a lot of jumping, I wouldn't go with it. I'm sure it will hold up just fine a play bike, hitting some whoops, and smaller stuff, but if your gonna be MXing, and jumping(seems you would want a minus swinger in that case), I wouldn't trust it. There's virtually no gussetting on it, and the linkage tabe seems to be kinda thin. Quote
Washburn Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 I agree for MX Racing I wouldnt go anything short of chromoly. I know if I rode on one of the ones you listed I would bend or snap it. I would consider a shorter than stock swingarm for added cornering ability and traction. Quote
DMP Posted March 22, 2007 Author Report Posted March 22, 2007 Thanks for the replies. I was just trying to decide whether to go with one of those or a roundhouse. I know a roundhouse is the way to go, but im on a budget too. The funny thing is on that ebay auction they say its a MX racing swingarm and is virtually indestructible. :ermm: Quote
Trick2stroke Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 F.A.S.T. sells a nice looking round house for something like 400 bucks. Probably the best swinger you'll find for the money. Carrier is only another 150 and you're in business. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 That FAST mx swinger is f'ing amazing looking when i get the money its going on my bike. Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 what size is the fast mx one? Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 (edited) my guess is -2 but youll have to ask Jeff personally to be sure. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=53 Edited March 23, 2007 by EastCoast Banshee Quote
Trick2stroke Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 (edited) I believe they go from -2 to +14, atleast that's what your options are for his regular swinger, I'd imagine he makes them in -2 threw somehting like +2 - +4 or higher atleast. Edited March 23, 2007 by Trick2stroke Quote
gipperz Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 You could always pm Loco and ask him if he'll make you one. He does good work and uses his own product. Quote

It just seemed to me all the guesseting was directed towards up and down force and just had me skeptical from the ones I saw, I have no doubt he could make one mx worthy though. Quote
