scotts96fast Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 How does it work?If it cools the engine up to 50 degrees. With engine ice ,the motor is running 180ish in the summer and than what happens in the winter?will the motor even get hot?I notice people run it durning the winter...I just don't get it! Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 it will not actually lower your temps 50 degrees... with a huge radiator and billet impeller and a GIANT fan blowing on it is how they came up with that number during thier testing... just like water wetter you will see a slight change but nothing insane... if you ride where it freezes in the winter you got to change out your coolant with some type of anti freeze, water wetter and engin ice both dont have freeze protection Quote

Just playin brother. Yeah, it has freeze protection too.. To quote the site: But does Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM protect an alloy engine as well as regular antifreeze? You bet! Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM offers excellent alloy protection for Motorcycle engines against corrosion, overheating, & freezing. Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM is pre-mixed at a 1:1 ratio with de-ionized (DI) water and has a boiling point of 256oF and a freezing point of -26oF. Propylene glycol engine coolants will perform superbly under most operating conditions and will not affect factory warranty coverage. Here's the linky.... http://www.engineice.cc/faq.html Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 welp there you go ill have to remember that one... i could have swore that it didnt have freeze protection...all the way to -26.. nice Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 stufs a joke anyways.. i wouldnt go as far as saying that... for guys that ride trails and dont have long stretches to get the air flowing and cool their motors these can aid in cooling quite a bit. Quote
2bzy2p Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 i use they hell out of it and will keep using it for really only three reasons...it will help cool your bike ...a lil... it wont freeze...and the main reason i use it is unlike water or the pink antifreeze it will not rust or eat any gaskets!....oh and of coarse its earth and pet friendly LOL !!! KlotzBanshee Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 stufs a joke anyways.. Just out of curiosity what makes you say that? I switched over to Engine Ice a few years ago and noticed a definite difference in operating temperatures Quote
