Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 yea theres a messurement per inch of bore... weisco for a stock bore 64mm you need .010-.012 gap... i set mine for .011 to be in the safe middle... if your that big you got the wrong rings... Quote
bansheefreak Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 if you have rings for 64mm you have stock bore rings... you need to sell and get 40 over rings.. Quote
kawiking Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 my old piston was a .75.. new piston is a wsm platinum series 1.00mm over---the rings say 64mm Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 so let me get this right... you slipping a 64mm stock bore ring on a 65mm piston? if so thats why your gaps wrong your stretching out the ring... does it slide around in the grove on the piston any? Quote

Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 thats right, 1mm is .0394 of an inch which it is rounded up to .040 ez to remeber, each .010 of over bore is 1/4 mm so .040 over is 1 mm Quote
Alex! Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 A perfect example on why you must ALWAY check the clearances! Quote
