  1. Are you saying the compression is too low or to high?
  2. We'' try another test with the throttle open and see. Your saying it should be roughly 170 psi?
  3. Would it have made a difference if we didn't hold the throttle open while kicking for the comp. test?
  4. Anyway, I just wanted to keep you guys updated. I rebuilt the top end of my bike and fired it up yesterday - 1 heat cycle. I have to order jets, the smallest I have is a 160 main and 55 or so pilot (PWK 35mm) - way too rich.My mods are 0.020 over factory cylinder with a port job (local builder) and 19cc domes, CPI pipes, V force 3 reeds, etc. After running it for a while I did a compression test and both cylinders were at 145-147 - I noticed the tester did not have as long of threads as the spark plugs do - I was hoping for a bit more compression than this. Maybe I should have posted this in the other forum...
  5. Great, thanks guys!
  6. it's the factory cylinders (ported of course!)
  7. What is everyone gapping their rings at? does 0.014 +- 0.002 soud good?
  8. Well, this coming weekend I'm going to reassemble the top end of the bike and would like some recommendations for jetting. 19 cc cool head, Vforce 3 reeds, dune style port job, 0.020 Wiseco pistons, billet manifold,+4 timming, Nology coil and wires, CPI pipes, 35mm PWKs. I'm at roughly 500-700 feet above sea level. What are you guys gapping your rings at?
  9. Congrats! you can't compare it to anything else in the world - best feeling ever!
  10. I'm just freshening up the top end of my bike - Wiseco pro lites, 0.020 bore, some sort of medium quality port job reeds etc... I have 19cc domes for my coolhead, I have no idea what my compression will be however - I need fuel to fire this thing up so do guys think 94 Sunoco will work - or should I get some race fuel? Once I'm done assembling I will be able to do a cyl pressure test - it's just if I need race fuel I'd like to pick it up now.
  11. we have a golf cart with a small block Chevy in it. now that's a scary ride!
  12. Hey guys, is there a gasket(s) between the manifold/reeds/cylinders?
  13. What are they for - what is it that they do?
  14. Roughly 75$ CDN in parts, 20-25$ CDN in shipping (go USPS not UPS) plus GST and PST - I know AB has no PST but it all really depends in which province the parts came in from the US. So a good 100-130$ Canadian.
  15. LOL Is it true that it eats up aluminum? (VP oxygenated)
  16. I use to run it in my turbocharged Mustang - 94 octane plus some booster, I'm not sure how many more points of octane it raised it (if any) but it did in fact keep it from pinging. I also ran it in a 11:1 Raptor - no pinging, and I never ran into any problems. I'm not sure what happens once you mix oil into the mixture though.
  17. I'm located in Ottawa. we use to go to picton often to visit family - nice little town! No trips this year but a few of us would like to plan something in the future.

    Elka shocks

Great, thanks for the opinions, I will just get the Elkas with the compression adjustment.

    Elka shocks

I'm in the market for a set of shocks and control arms and was wondering if I need the fully adjustable shocks? I would like Elkas with a resevoir, however I'm not sure if I need the ones that are fully adjustable. I mostly ride trails, open roads etc.. I do jump the bike but nothing extraordinary. What do you guys think?
  20. LOL! They have to have teeth and weigh less than 200lbs for it to count! LOL!
  21. Does a two stroke and a four stroke like to operate at the same a/f ratio under load?
