I recently bought an 06 banshee, and a t-5 kit from toomey. My problem is that when it hits the powerband the power does not seem to be as strong as when it was stock. i am 60 ft above sea level and i used the suggested 280 jets and needle with the clip on the 4th groove, floats are at 21-22 mm. anyone have any ideas? Thanks

You still have the stock air filter and lid on? What is the air temperature around you? Have you checked your plugs/done a plug chop? Your T5's should have a good difference over stock.

Sounds like you might be too lean. Warm up your bike on your old plugs, then once you have it warmed up, put the new ones in and go to a plug chop. Then take some pictures of your plugs and post them on here :thumbsup:

i have the same set up you do and ran into the same problem,except that my powerband wouldn't kick in on a steep dune.on flat land it would do fine.i started out with a compression test and found my compression was way low on one cylinder,and on the other it was boarder line.i ended up pulling the head and cylinders and found my piston rings were complete shot,my piston had cracks and the skirts and the top of the pistons were chipped, and my head was damaged from debris.i would start with a compresion check first,if you engine isn't mod then you should be around 128 or light higher.anything below 120 psi you might have to think about re-building the top end or pull the top end apart and inspect it.

I second that. There is no way that the Toomeys pull less on top, unless you are way lean (or have very low compression, compared to when you ran the stock pipes). Take off the lid, put on a K&N, and put in some 330s to 350s. I ran 350s with this set up. Rich, but halled ass past every piped Banshee or YFZ it ever raced. Probably 5 or 6 of each, beat'em EVERY time.

thanks for all the replies. Ipulled the lid off and boy what a difference runs like a champ now. front end pulls rightup evenleaning forward. I also noticed that there seems to be a fair amount of oil at the tips of the pipes. is that normal?
