  1. i have the same set up you do and ran into the same problem, except that my powerband wouldn't kick in on a steep dune.on flat land it would do fine.i started out with a compression test and found my compression was way low on one cylinder, and on the other it was boarder line.i ended up pulling the head and cylinders and found my piston rings were complete shot,my piston had cracks and the skirts and the top of the pistons were chipped, and my head was damaged from debris.i would start with a compresion check first,if you engine isn't mod then you should be around 128 or light higher.anything below 120 psi you might have to think about re-building the top end or pull the top end apart and inspect it. 2. i'm running stock gearing, and 8 v-paddles, that are worn out.going to buy new paddles.i'm going to work on the shee next weekend,i'm going to check the compression for sure.thanks for all the input.
  3. a thanks for all the comments,i'm going to start looking into it further.if any other suugestions come up,please just post it,every little thing helps.
  4. im running the v-paddles,8 paddle.there worn out, because on races i feel my shee just spinning for a second and then it launches.could the cause this problem?i was wondering if that could be the problem also.the elevation was 700ft,temp was about 65 deg.
  5. i just came back from the dunes, and when i was out there my bike would bog down in third gear going up a steep dune.but on flat land land my shee does good.i have a stock motor,t-5 toomeys,k&n air filter w/out the snorkel,280 mains and needle on the 3rd clip.does anyone have any suggestions?
  6. i got a 06 banshee,i have t-5's,k&n air filter with stock air box and the breathers drilled in the air box,and im running 280 jets.i just came back from dumont and my quad would lose power climbing big dunes.the temp out there was between 60-65 in the day and 30-40 at night.im wondering if i need to drop down in jet sizes?my plug looks like im running rich.but in previous dune trips my quad wouldn't do that and i would be taking other quads at the drags.can anyone give advice? ::
