banshee40391 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 ok here is my question i just tore the motor down on my banshee i just got a couple months ago here is what ive found piston size is 65.92mm(how much is it bored out) its also ported to hell and back i dont think its a woods port as it has a bottom end that sucks but is a demon after the power band hits (not my style of power would rather have more bottom end myself) but like i said i just traded for it a while back and that is the way it was when i got it its got hotrod crank k&n filter toomey t3's or 4's not sure wich ones what kind of hp am i looking at on this thing ? so basicaly i need to know how much over its bored and what type port do you think it has and what kind of hp if you can help on these thanks kenny Quote
olmick Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 your on the last bore size i think, thats .100 over, i would guess that it has some sort of dune or drag port done to it, but its hard to tell without seeing the pictures of the ports, and is that hotrods crank a stroker? we need to know the size of your carbs, what compression your at, timing, air filters etc, but id say if its ported good then maybe in the mid to high 50s if your on stock carbs, also i have a top end that i just listed on ebay that i bought from dishman on here and never ran them, if your interested just let me know man, im just a hop and a step from you Quote

I cant guess what kind of portyou have without looking at your cyls. If its a top end screamer you probably have alot more taken out than the standered woods port or the ports were raised to high. Do you have a stock swingarm or an extended one? Does it stand up out of controll in 3rd-5th gear? Its very hard to guess what kind of HP you are pushing . There are way to many variables there. You could always buy some virgin port cylinders and get them ported to your style and sell yours to offset the cost. You will probably break even. What kind of riding do you do? Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Kenny like washburn said you can get stock untouched cylinders and go from there but regardless of what you do t-3 or t-4 pipes are more of a top end pipe so you'll still lack bottom end potential. Quote

What kind of riding do you do? when i got it it had a stock swingarm the front end was in the air thru all the gears so i got a 2" extension for it and it dont help it still pull wheels up going down hill in all gears i must say this is my first banshee and it scares the shit out of me in the woods i do mainly trail riding and just messing around on the trails as soon as i can get a camara ill get some pics of the port work thanks kenny Quote

Im getting a 4mil hotrods stroker crank with a lowend agressive woods port with PT MIDS A 35mm single carb setup VF3s Noss Head with 20cc domes and advanced timing +4 and I will be running a -2 swingarm. As you can tell the extended swingarm doesnt help handeling. Im sure you can find a nice set of cylinders here in the for sale section. That would be your best bet because you know the Cyls you will be getting are exactly as described or Ebay just make sure to ask for pics. Probably run you around 200 bucks. What kind o carbs are you running? Tell us every mod handleing and preformance you have done to your Banshee. Quote
banshee40391 Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 i personaly have done no work to this other than the swingarm extension i done a compression check on it when i first got it(but after i done the compression check i seen on here that you are supposed to hold the throttle open while doing it and i didnt dont know what kind of diff. it makes ) and there was about a 5psi or so difference between cylinders is the reason i tore into it but every thing looks great inside the cyl.s you can tell its not been run much after being built you can still see the hone marks in the cyl.s im guessing it has the stock carbs with the tors removed it has a stock stroke hotrod crank im guessing since it has no plate under the cyl.s i traded a stock 300ex to the banshee the guy who had it before me was scared of it and wanted somthing with less power so i jumped on it (can you blame me but thats about all i know that has been done to it as far as the port goes it looks just like the pics someone posted in my thread about ports on here ill pull them back up so you can see them thanks again kenny Quote
