Skithis Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Hi, I just bought a banshee that has pro circuit full pipes on it. The jets were NEVER changed by the previous owner. Also it was never ridden in the cold. I have been riding it lately and noticed a small bog in my low rpm range. Its about 10-20 degrees here everyday now. What jets should i change? and what jets should i be running in the summer? Also what are the stock sizes? Quote

Skithis Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Posted February 5, 2007 sorry to be a dick but telling me its a "time bomb" doesnt help me. I know what a main jet is. Im not sure whats in it now but i know its jetted for warm weather. If somebody could tell me what main to run 1000 ft up and in 20 degree temps id be thrilled. Quote
Handyman Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I ran a 280 all year long...I was a little rich during half the year and right on the other half of the year. Quote
Skithis Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Posted February 5, 2007 alright i plan to remove the airbox snorkal also. So with the snorkal removed and pipes 280 is enough fuel in 10degree weather? Or should i go 300? Quote
Skithis Posted February 5, 2007 Author Report Posted February 5, 2007 after doing some searching i think it looks like i need more like 320 or more. Where can i find out about this "clip" thing that some people are saying could also be moved slightly richer. Im going to also turn my idle air adjusting screws in about a half turn, this ought to help my idle. Thanks for the help. anybody else want to chime in? Quote
Handyman Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 the clip is on the needle in the slide. You have to take the spring out and unscrew the metal piece in there. There are 5 grooves on the needle numbered 1-5 starting at the top and counting down. The C-Clip should be in the 3rd clip. You will want to move it one grove down which will inturn raise the needle making the fuel/air mixture richer, if that is what you want to do. Quote
Banchetta Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 Stock sizes are 210-220 depending on year..You should be running a 270 main during the summer w/o the air box lid or mod the lid...I cut the last 1.5" off the end of the lid on all the shees I work on right behind the clips so you still have all four clips....W/ the lid on, you'll have a loss of bottom end as well as top end..the snorkel will really kill it..Do you have a K&N? If not, get one. Next, you want to up the pilot to a 27.5 or 30...If you go to the 27.5, then raise the needle to the 4th clip from the blunt end, if you use the 30 pilot, then keep the needle in the 3rd groove. Adjust the air screw to throttle response. As for winter, you'll be running around a 300-310 mains at 20 degrees Quote
IROOST1 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 jetting depends on your mods, if its just pipes, 290 mains will be plenty, with lid off. Quote
Skithis Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 Yup! I tried 300's tonight and had a bog at WFO. ill try 280's tommorow. Quote

Skithis Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 ok just for reference if somebody searches this thread. Im at 270 now and still bogging. Lid is off. Temps outside are around 10 degrees and elevation is 1000 feet. Im trying 250's tommorow. Quote
Banchetta Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 You must have other problems....make sure your tors isn't playing a role in this. Also make sure the choke tube is being put back in place after you rejet.....You should be able to pull a 270 in those temps w/ ease.....If the 250 doesn't pull, then you have other problems and DO NOT go leaner....Is your clutch cable switch still connected? Follow the wire from the clutch to the gas tank and disconnect it at the next connection. Now look above the left exhaust and you'll see a little black box w/ a 3-wire plug, disconnect it. Thats your tors...if it acts up, it'll act like a rev limiter before powerband and sometimes cut your spark completely off...a lot of times though, it acts like a rich main. Quote
Skithis Posted February 7, 2007 Author Report Posted February 7, 2007 well i know it isnt the TORS becuase when i got the banshee it had the stock 200 in it and it ran like a raped ape. But i guess it could have been rich then too. Ill check that out. Thanks a lot. Quote
