mod quad 2 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 i was lookin at race fuel and stuff today but it seem's like when you hit a certain compressin it seems to jump to race fuel doesnt it seem like a big jump wouldnt you think you would kind like start mixing it at lower ratios that arnt much lower Quote

mod quad 2 Posted January 25, 2007 Author Report Posted January 25, 2007 what about somethin like a 25-75 ratio race fuel-supreme and ratio for what compression Quote
ojcool Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 what about somethin like a 25-75 ratio race fuel-supreme and ratio for what compression at 160+ psi it is generally reccomended that you start running higher octane than 93 Quote
Ruko Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 There are a lot of factors that come into play... chamber size, elevation, porting, timing... the main thing is to use enough race fuel that you don't get any detonation, which can be hard to tell on a 2 stroke. So it's better to have too much race fuel, which doesn't hurt anything, than too little which can cause major problems. Quote
sheefreak Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 I know a lot of people mix their fuel 50/50 but I wouldn't and this is why. Race fuels all have an octane rating. This is an estimated octane rating. I believe VP is the only one who guarentees the stated octane rating for every drop of fuel. If you can't necessarily count on a race fuel to be 100%, how are you going to trust a mixture of 93 and 110 to give you consistent deto protection? If you want a more technical explanation on the octane rating of fuels check out a couple different web sites(VP, Torco, Cam2,etc.) Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Or you could just run methanol. It loves compression and timing. I'm eager to try the red banshee at some lower altitudes to see what I can get out of it. I'm at 190lbs and at 7500ft elev. Thing would be ungodly at lower elevations. Quote
mod quad 2 Posted January 25, 2007 Author Report Posted January 25, 2007 would be forsure man haha... can you imagin a methonal mx'er hhaha Quote
Bigkahun74 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 i use aviation fuel with amsiol at 40:1 ratio in my shee. the av fuel is 100 octane and i have 175psi of compression in each cyl. i get the fuel from my local airport thats 2 miles from my house.. Quote
Animalman294 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Yeah, I used AV gas, but when I was down around 150................... Quote
