8buck Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 (edited) I fired up the Banshee for the first time in like 3 months today. First of all it's been like -15 to 5 degrees outside for the last two week. I tried to kick it over and the motor was locked up so put a heater on it for a while and freed up and started on the 4th kick. Once it was running, I noticed fuel dripping out the exhaust, and when I gave it some throttle, I covered the whole side of my wife's white car in black, oily gas! Worn float valve and seat?? I believe you hit the nail on the head !!!!!, The floats may just be STUCK Quote
8buck Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 is it on alky or gas ? I wish I could say alky but I can't Quote
On_3_See_Ya! Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 I wish I could say alky but I can't i think it could be un burnt fuel in your motor , see if you can clean it out by rapping the throtle , or taking it for a qwik put around , if it was your float it would run out your over flow on the side of your carb's is that happing? Quote
Satsol67 Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Correct, If it were the floats gas would be pouring out through the over flow tubes. Quote
yamaha04 Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 could also just be condisation, your pipes going from cold to hot you would definatly get some condisation build up at the temp. Quote

Or possibly spitting out water...since you said it was locked up b4 you put a heater on it. Probably made a ton of condensation. What kind of coolant are you using that would freeze up? Quote

Dumped out at least a half a quart. that happened to me once with a kx 250 when i let it sit with fuel left on, i think fuel just keep dumping into the motor and fills it up with fuel , same thing when i started it shot a stream of fuel 15-20 ft, (all over my brothers lawn and killed a huge patch ) i cleaned the carb installed new reeds and took the pipe off and cleaned all the fuel out and it never happened again , but i never left the fuel on to see allways turned it off so it wouldnt happen again. my brother still bitches grass doesnt grow good in that spot , it was like three years ago , ha ha ha Edited January 22, 2007 by woodro77 Quote

firefighterjosh Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 My banshee did the same thing. But once it warms up it would quit. did you let it warm up? What i think.....during the summer fuel/oil crap dries inside the pipes. when you start it up in the winter all the condensation cleans out the pipes in a way. Mine would blow crap out for a long time maybe almost 10 mins before stopping. Just a guess Quote
