If you are good at heli coiling, I've seen people fuck that up hardcore, try that first. Keep an eye on your clutch when you are riding, does it rev high but not put the power to the ground etc. The basic stuff you should notice anyway when riding. Worst case scenario you gotta replace the clutch fibers and rings, and have to replace the boss.

I'd almost dare say figure out the standard size its a bit smaller than and tap it to that larger size in standard. If I remember right metric and standard are damn near half sizes of each other when it gets down to it.

Every time I put in a new clutch I put new bolts and washers on it. The reason you snaped it was the bolt neck stretches and sooner or later you will break one off. Try a left handed drill to get it out smaller than the bolt size. Should come right out. If not use an easy out. Just my .02.

Bansheeman, the reason it broke is becuase you set your torque wrench up for 25 ft lbs.......!!? I believe they are only around 7-8 ft lbs for the 6 clutch bolts. Is this what you need??

Even have new bolts if needed. Give us a holler if you need help !

Hell, I thought that crap only happened to me. I go to work on something and it will be a $30.00 fix but because I broke 3 different things either taking it apart or putting it back together it turns into a $300.00 fix :banghead:

Then after you finish with that, you crack open that beer and sit back and look at your now finished project and then out of the corner of your eye you see that hole you put in the wall and it now extends your to do list another few items.................. :yelrotflmao:

Exactly what i thought, put my clutch in last night and tightened them to 7.3 ft. lbs.

Got the specs from the service manual.

I've got an extra OEM one I'll sell ya man, actually got 2. LMK and I'll have my friend pick it up this wknd for me.

Edit, I did this also, and I used a little tool that looks like a tiny icepick and was able to unscrew the broken part out. Try it if you've got a tool small enough, it's not very hard, just time consuming. The bolts aren't tight in there at all when you break 'em off. We've had 3 do this and this worked everytime

I broke one off when i rebuilt mine, I was so pissed off. But the bolt is not tight like said b4, I just cleand it up good as i could making sure there was no pieces in the cover or clutch's and such and put it all back together and rode it for about an hour and took the cover off and it was laying in the bottom of the cover.. Not the best method but it worked
