Just found that my tranny is leaking through the shifter shaft(left side of case. Is this a common problem. Is there some kind of a seal that goes on the left side of the case for the shifter. Going riding tomorrow but will be checking oil level frequesntly.

Really don't want to pull clutch cover off but have a feeling I'm going ot have to. Any help will be appreciated. Got to get it ready for glamis next weekend.

Thanks in advance

You said its leaking where the shift shaft comes out of the cases? So why would you need to remove your clutch cover? All you need to do is drain the oil, remove stator cover, and remove the old seal, then put on the new one. I replaced mine not to long ago(forget how much, it was cheap for the seal though). All i did was take a scriber, pull out the old seal, oil the new one, slide it on, and then take a socket big enough to fit over the shaft, and hit that gently to seal the seal. Hope this helps
