350shee Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 im not sure where you buy a $1500 crank at but that is more than double over retail! unless its a billet crank wich is only around $1200. this guy asked for an opinion and i gave one to him dont bust my ballz because i gave my opinion. he never mentioned that he already had a hot rods crank (stock stroke) he obviously has a few bucks to spend because not everyone has the cash around to build a 4mil cub like he was asking he would still have to buy the 4 mil crank. so this is my opinion 7mil crank forged 7mil cub cylinders 65 bore and trench the cases for the stroke. your opinion 4mil crank forged 4mil cub cyinders 68 bore i still see him buying new pistons, still has to buy a crank 7 should be the same price as a 4, has to buy the cylinder stock 4 and 7 are all the same price, and trenching is only 150 so i see him spening a whole whopping 150 buck more and and would have in my opinion a better motor. once again all IMHO Quote

BigRed350x Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 LOL Oooh... Burn! I rode a cub once and had one of my own a couple months later. I think I got damn near everything for ol blue in about a month or two. Never really totaled everything up though. I imagine for EVERYTHING I got changing over to my cub it was up over 2k. Swinger, roundhouse carrier, intakes, carbs, pipes, cubs, crank, head, domes, reeds... it all adds up quick. Damn two-strokes. ...and I'm doing it all over again with my 06! What the hell was I thinking getting that thing? LOL! Quote
dajogejr Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 ...and I'm doing it all over again with my 06! What the hell was I thinking getting that thing? LOL! Because...you wanted that new bike smell and BNG (Bold New Graphics...LOL ) Quote

Jared promise you wont make it look like mine.lol Glad to see you with a new shiny one.It makes all the new polished parts look good. Quote
bada450r Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 no one said a drag motor wont hit over 100hp but a 421 cub on gas isnt going to make 100hp wothout a fat port job... just runnin a cleanup port on a cub isnt going to get you there...why the fuk spend the money on a 7mm crank to get a smaller motor when you can get a 4mm cub for close to the same amount and have better top end... for a 7mm your going to spend around 1500 just for the crank the cases to be trenched ,a crank and a port job..and you still need pistons or you can get a 4mm cub and spend 1400 and have better topend and still be abe to dune it...and thats for everything what carbs are you running? your bike is a fukin gas hog! you shouldnt be out of gas going that short of a distance! get your self an ims tank if thats the case! it is a gas hog,but i dune it on saturday night, cuz 1 of my buddies has a dirt bike w no lights, and i didnt want to take my truck to the hill at night,so i let him ride my ltr450,i dont dune my shee often, and besides just got my over ride, and side cover from orange crush, just waiting for my lock up.by the way i got the pjs 34.saying that i dont want a bigger tank.by the way my banshe kick some serious ass on saturday.i fucking love the power band.and to stick w the topic i was hauling ass on in while on the road to olds, and the only way to done it properly is way on top, which in turn gets a little scary,i have no front brakes so i almost runed into a tree, its dark out there.so my solution to a 421 cub,and dunning was getting a 4stroke dunner. :: :: :: ::  Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 a cheaper route would have been better lights and maybe some new front brakes lol  where did you endup camping? we where down in the washes, but i think next time we are going to camp somewhere else i cant fuking stand how at night the dust sits right there in the washes. 350shee Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 I'm sorry i did not see the KIT part of your post. It is hard to think any company can package a kit like that together for that cheap. however, i still stand behind the 7mm/65!!! Quote

It is hard to think any company can package a kit like that together for that cheap. however, i still stand behind the 7mm/65!!! Does anyone hve dyno charts of similarly built 4mm and 7mm motors? I doubt it, but... Is the longer stroke adds more power at the top correct? I currious why you think a 7mm is a better dune bike. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 4 mil adds more torque and bottom, a few ponies overall... I have a dyno chart from my 421 cub, on race gas, with stock carbs and T5 pipes, bone stock 10 year old ignition.... I've yet to dyno it on my RDZ/Shearer inframes, updated ignition and 35PWks (going to alky now) but I still have the dyno chart if you're interested... Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 a 4mil to a 7mil both on the same jugs and mods the 7mil will have more topend.. however the 4mil cub versus the 7mil noncub with smaller pistons.. is just a waste of money your spending almost doulbe for a 7mil crank to have a smaller motor... when you can get a 4mil cub and have a monster that is much more duner friendly at less of a cost.... and the 1500 i posted was incorrect casue i didnt add the 7mil crank cost i did just over a 4mil which isnt nearly as much as they cost... also i didnt include an accurate amount for the porting to change the port timings for the 7mil... so you can actually add more for that as well.. where the cub comes already ported for that stroke crank... only thing that can be done is a clean up port for the casting flaws.. and 99% of builders clean them up for free when you order the motor from them.. I'm not totally sold either way, but the price difference isn't that big of a deal. I just don't want to get finished and say to myself "damn I should have done this" Quote
dajogejr Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 The broken up line was one of the first runs, leaking head and a shattered flywheel. The 84.8 run was with the T5s and Stock carbs/Ignition. Quote
