Damn dude, that's crazy. Who cut that down? They definately took too much off the outside, looks thin as hell. I know you said you didn't want to say, but it might really help out someone, if they had the same person do theirs. Good luck bro!

thats way to much material removed from that thing...i would be asking for a new flywheel whoever done the job.

you cant blame it on them... you have differant options of how much to take off.. you know going in that the more you take off the weaker its prone to being...just luck of the draw

regardless of how much a customer wants taken off i still feel that a reputable shop will turn away any request to lighten a flywheel beyond what is considered safe

i would rather have a shop tell me that no they wont cut one down that far

than to have a shop that will do it for me knowing the risks

That sucks man.

Hope you can get it back together and back out tearing up the dunes!

I will look through my boxes of banshee crap and see if I can find you a flywheel.

i want to say he only had 12oz taken off... you can have more then that taken off and the flywheel be fine... he just was one of the unlucky ones where it didnt holdup... he was the flywhel myth that people hear about but never see

i think the guy is fortunate the flywheel did not come out and cause HIM damage,i think the statement of "luck of the draw" and"its just a matter of time" is very poor. Not trying to be an ass here, but any shop that does any kind of work such as that have a "liability".Even if the customer says to take so much off its paper thin, the shop should have had nough sense to say"sorry we cant,,thats gonna make the material way to thin"the guy can come back and sue you even if the guy signed off on it.After a shop lightens a flywheel,it still should never come apart, anyone can machine a flywheel down to nothing and take a pound off it but is it safe?
