use some dawn dish soap to clean the outer wears ... dont put any oil on the outers... just run the filter oiled and put your outer on it dry... riding that thing in the snd with oil is going to fill it up FAST...

alright thanks, i have the uni air filters, i thought the oil outside out be a bad thing,,what oil should i run for the filters themselves? spray stuff???

ive tried various oils from botique uni/k&n oiuls to atf and motor oil.

the best thing i have found is bar and chain oil for a chainsaw. its a sticky tacky oil that clings really well. seems to work as good as anything else, and its many times cheaper than buying a little bottle of real filter oil.

thats what i was looking for,,, someone that tried alot of things,,,,ill try the bar oil once, everywhere around here has to order the spray of any kind ,,

Chain and bar oil, I've never heard of using that. I know that K&N's are supposed to last forever compared to other filter's, and I think that has to do with the oil used on their filter's. So, I am also wondering if using other oils would ruin the filter faster, or not work as efficiently..........?

What are the rest of you guys using as far as foam filter oil? I'm currently using Spectro SX Super Tacky Foam Filter Oil...Its a pain to clean, but it seems to do a great job of stopping crap from getting into the intake.

I use the Bel Ray foam filter oil on mine. It is the tackyest stuff by far. It collects dirt better than any spray shit thats FOR SURE!

alright thanks ill have to try it,, where did you get yours at?

I get mine from Cody. Buchananracing.com will be up soon and I think he will sell that on his site also. You can get it from anywhere though dealership rockymountainatv.com should have some. I get it cheaper but even if its like 10 bucks a bottle its worth it.
