cexualcensations Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I am planning on building a drag banshee either a 535 cheetah ( 73mm pistons/ 10mm stroker) or a 593 ( 74.5 pistons/14mm stroker) with a nos kit and running race gas. I am looking for a really good drag port. Wondering if anyone has ever tried rdz racing portwork or trinity racing. I know trinity is really slow and sometimes hard to deal with for past dealings with them. Also would 38 mm carbs be big enough for this combination. Also looking for some good drag pipes. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 i have heard some pretty good reports for rdz.... as far as the carbs go you think about lectrons? for the setup your tryng to get sounds like the right carbs for you... also for pipes shearers out of frames grr a few omre i cant think of off my head right now... for your questions on drag bike id hit up www.planetsand.com all the drag banshee talk goes on there... lowriderb Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 the cheetah's seem to like the bigger carbs so 38's may end up being on the small side anyways.. i ran the 38's i have on my 4mm cub.. imo i would go with the 14mm out of the two strokes.. that little bit more power is always nice to have.. i would also look into some 40-41mm carbs or so.. 535banshee Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 rdz or dan hull is a good way to go for porting. do not use those P.O.S carbs(lectrons). use a set of 39pwks with a set of billet bowls. Quote

535banshee Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 like i said P.O.S. if you want a carb that you always want to fuck with everytime you go out to race. i dont like having to sand needles sometimes just to get them right. like i said P.O.S. every guy that i have sold pwks to that had lectrons like the pwks better and said motor ran better Quote
Bansh-eman Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 i have heard nothing but good things for the lectrons... Quote

lowriderb Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 i havent seen anyone have to mod the needles with the lectrons either.. the pwk's dont seem to be as easy to tune as the tm's but thats just what i prefer more than the pwk's.. the lectrons are extremely easy to tune, the needle is only for idle and the rest is on the power jets.. 535banshee Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 (edited) we have nothing but bad luck with them down here. i have talked to dan hull about them, maybe its me. he said he hates them also, couldnt give him a pair. i guess its just what you like Edited November 21, 2006 by 535banshee Quote
shanYE west Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Dennis Packard seems to like the lectrons..I know he has had a few fast shee's.. I use PWK's myself but If I could find a set of Lectrons at a decent price I cant say I would try them. Quote
535banshee Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 (edited) i will not spend money on them! my pwks work great and very easy to tune. just like the lectrons just turn the power jets. i like the pwks because you can tune just one spot without messing with anything else. i like the fine tuning of the pwks. i find them just as easy to tune as the lectrons Edited November 21, 2006 by 535banshee Quote

For a motor like that call Kim at K&T he will set you up with the whole package. Their big motor packages he will build the carbs and pipes specific for your motor. ktperfomance.com Quote

sheefreak Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Dennis Packard will of course use the Lectron, it is his carb. A+S, RDZ, K+T, are all good routes. Stay away from Trinity if you want to go real fast. They are about quanity these days! Quote
