I just put my mx motor together and was wondering if my engine compression sounded right. .020 over,17cc domes with 4mm stroker longrod at sealevel came up to 205 psi per cylinder.

I had a 485 cheetah I ordered from trinity and it just sit in the box which I just recently sold, I never installed it because I was trying to save and buy other critcal engine parts like override tranny, lockup clutch, hinson basket pressure plate etc....But I changed my mind when I saw the dm cheetah cylinders and now I have started my complete rebuild of frame up. I just recently powercoated the stock frame. Im trying to get ideas so I know what I need to purchase.I couldnt make my mind up on engine size until now. My thing is if your building a drag engine and your already spending thousands of dollar on different engine parts, why not spend a few more and get the biggest available. Now Im kinda stuck on do I really need to fork out more money on a drag frame

The lonestar frame is suspended but it doesnt look much different than a stock frame for a 4200 price tag I cant see it. Does anyone have this frame or know someone who does. I would like some opinions on this frame verses the others. thanks

Whats the real advantages of a drag chassis opposed to a stock chassis with +forward a-arms and lengthed swingarm? Iv been looking around at drag chassis and found the lonestar, dave moore , and the cp customs drag chassis. I am builded a 707 dm cheetah with about a 30 shot boss noss kit. The bike will be set up for 1/8 mile sand drags and probably riding around fucking with people. Wondering If the mod is really worth all the extra money as they cost around 4000? I was thinking they probably just hook up better. I had planned on just using a stock chassis with a +12 or +14 swingarm but dont know how will it will hook up on a beast motor like this. Iv I had to get a new chassis I probably wouldnt want a ridgit chassis.

more like a 1/8 mile sand drag bike

boss noss

I had planned on using a stock frame. What advantages what it be to use a lonestar drag frame.

had the adjustable ones on my brothers 240 blaster and I thought they sucked will never buy lrd again for any bike. the pipes always leaked at the adjustment points. They may work fine on a stock one. :verymad:

Going to order my 707cc dm cheetah cylinders today and my 30 shot nos kit. Wondering which swingarm length i should get a +12 or +14.
-
what size swingarm are you planning to run with the 688 setup?
-
A 421 powervavled cheetah mx port with a -2 swing arm should be a thrill to ride
-
Where did you buy them from cause im looking to do the same build but with the 20mm stroker. 707cc
-
black frame= white plastic with carbon rad cover or black red frame = black plastic with red rad cover if you go with stock plastic

I just bought a second banshee and what to use it as a trail/track bike. Would it be better to get some small cheetah cub cylinders and mx port them or use the stock cylinders and get those ported as for as performance goes.
-
How much stroke does the 688 banshee gonna have, a 20 mm. It should be one sweet ride. :yelrotflmao:

Who makes the best and safest Nos Kit for the banshee? Was looking at the boss noss full regulated system from cascade innovations and the nx kit at alba action. I have never used a nos kit before so not really sure on name brand but from my looking the boss noss looks the best. Has anyone ever used this kit before?
-
they have them on ebay. I think they are going for 150.00
-
what about the hinson ones. Anyone every tried them?

Wondering if anyone is using the pvl ignition on there drag bikes. Is this a good setup to use or is the dyna ignition along with nology coil just as good.

What mods to go a little faster?
cexualcensations replied to rynb15's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It would be best to wait and do porting when you are ready for a fresh rebuid ( new pistons, rings and bore). There are lots of different types of porting that can be done depending on your riding characteristics. Heres some ideas rdz racing or jim at passion for a good port job as well as many others. Prices are about 400 dollars. -
So it will not affect the performance by putting stock ported cylinders on the machined cases

I have two banshees that I am working on (one for drag and the other for mx and playing around on). The drag one a am planning on building a massive cheetah stroker as I talked about in a previous post. That bike I oringially had was intended for a drag / trail bike with a 421 cheetah /4mm stroker. So I sent the top crankcase and had them machined to accept the larger cylinder . Well since then i have picked up another banshee and have changed my mind. I want strickly a drag bike and a mx bike. So with that said since I want to go bigger for the drag bike like a 593/610 the lower cases will have to be trenched and expoxed which will cost around 600 from rdz racing. And the other banshee which I have had a mx port done to the stock cylinder along with a ton more upgrades needs a new crankcase which cost 500. So I was wondering If I could use the case which has been machined for the larger cheetah cylinders with the stock cylinder for my mx bike. Cause I am thinkin about buying billet case for the drag bike for duribility and in the long run it will save me money.

I am planning on building a drag banshee either a 535 cheetah ( 73mm pistons/ 10mm stroker) or a 593 ( 74.5 pistons/14mm stroker) with a nos kit and running race gas. I am looking for a really good drag port. Wondering if anyone has ever tried rdz racing portwork or trinity racing. I know trinity is really slow and sometimes hard to deal with for past dealings with them. Also would 38 mm carbs be big enough for this combination. Also looking for some good drag pipes.

I have torn these engines down several times and know these engines like no tommarow. There are one half circlip for the right hand side crackshaft bearing ( opposite side of flywheel and stator ) and there are two other half circlips for the the transmission bearings. If you go to troy-racing.com and go to the oem parts finder you can locate the circlips if you lost one. they should be under the crackshaft and transmission catogories. But when installing them they go in the lower crank case portion. Good luck
