400ccStroker_shee Posted November 14, 2006 Report Posted November 14, 2006 much cleaner, minimal setup. easy to work on and work around. That looks tight! I wish I could afford that setup right now! Looks easy to work on too!! Maybe I'll see someone with the 2 into 1 carb setup out on thanksgiving weekend and see how there shee runs I'll be at dumont if anyone will be there with this type of setup! Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Not knocking you or any thing. Under your theory then you should need the same jetting in your carb as a dual carb setup. Only one cylinder suckin air at a time. Then there is only one cylinder pulling fuel from the main jet at a time. In wich your carb should be jetted like a dual carb setup. Why do you run a 190 main jet then? My guess is because in the upper RPM's it is more like 2 cylinders sucking air at the same time. Your theory is ok at an Idle. The single carbs run pretty close the same size pilot jets as the dual set ups. Most people running duals run in the neighborhood of 145-152 mains. Your single is 190 main. Well I am not an expert on this but here is my take. Well becuase it is a 35mm carb. More air so you need more gas. You might be right a little though. It is probaly a bigger main to make sure each cylinder gets enough gas. It is impossible for the cylinders to suck air at the same time but they do come close so it is a little richer up top. You would think that a engine that hits every 2 strokes would need a bigger carb than a engine that hits every four strokes the trx450 has a 40mm carb, which atv has more top end? Quote
lowriderb Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 ok, well since you guys like to stay slow.. i think ill just stick to the idea that im going to run dual carbs on my bike.. and that would be dual 40mm's like i said before if you wanted more bottom end then guy a damn 4 stroke and be done with it..
