Nelsonmandela27 Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Whats up everybody, im new here and i was looking for some help. First thing im lookin at getting a new (or used)quad, and im looking at the banshee. right now i have an 03 suzuki z400 and ive pretty much just outgrown the power, and i just think that it would cost way too much to make the z fast compared to a banshee So now my problem is i need to get a job, so i was wondering where a good place for a 16 year old to start working would be. Thanks for the help. Quote

JET 99 Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 are you planning on keeping the z400??????? if you get a banshee dont be disappointed at first.......... it does take some money to unlock the power you can make with it........ the stock suspension sucks....... nobody here will tell you different!!!!!!!!!!! so really think hard about what you really want......... yuor z has alot better suspension.......... dont want you to be dissapointed  welcome aboard  Quote
Nelsonmandela27 Posted November 12, 2006 Author Report Posted November 12, 2006 yes i do plan on keeping the z mostly for my little brother. another question i have is how do banshees run in the winter time, because i live in iowa and it can get pretty cold but nothing extreme. ive always heard that 4 strokes run better in the winter than two strokes. even if this is true we have a heated garage so i would think that if i kept it in there it would run just fine right? You'll just have to keep an eye on the jetting. If you don't jet right for the winter you'll be running lean and the enginer won't be lubricated correctly. The Banshee is a different quad and feel then the Z, what kind of riding do you do? If you don't have the cash to mod the banshee, suspension, light motor mods, etc. keep the Z IMO. Quote
JET 99 Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 (edited) some will say rejet in the winter some dont i personally say if your a little on the rich side winter wont hurt (unless you ride sub freezing temps) the colder air is more dense so more air more fuel.... the heated garage is probably gonna be better on your seals. (motor, shocks, axles) rubber is more plyable when warm trans oil will be warmer so right off the bat it will flow better... not a necessity but something to thinkabout Edited November 12, 2006 by JET 99 Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Swith the suspension on your Z to your new banshee when you get it lol Quote
Animalman294 Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 Banshee's were designed to go like hell, hence their name, and they do that very well. With correct gearing even a stock banshee is a force to be reconned with. But you will get a lot more power out of a 2 stroke than you will out of a four with the same amount of money. The suspension issue has always been a problem, but Yamaha put all their R&D money into other quads to help them sell better. The Banshee has always sold really well, which is why they had such a long manufacturing run and had little change to the bike............. Quote
flipcarre Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 I got a job at wal-mart, the pay is good and they held me for 2 years now, good steady job, it pays me 9.20 (CDN dollars) an hour.. Quote
rynb15 Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 i worked at burger king when when i was 15. Now that i have real job,(im 23) i realize it was prob the best job i had. besides the pay which sucked it was a lot of fun. But i just went from a z400 to my banshee. Now the banshee is way faster but like everyone said suspension is horrible. But its worth it  Quote

owmyeye Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Find a mom and pop place ( like a small pizzaria or breakfast place). Chances are they might pay you cash. Other than that, how about starting your own lawn service or car detailing in your neighborhood. 20-25 bucks a lawn x however many houses you can get = extra spending money Quote
