I think your best bet is to drop it off at a garage and have them press it off, most garages have a large press for wheel & axle bearings.

In your case I would say you need to rig up some kind of press or Hydrolic (sp?) setup...

 

If it's siezed on there that good, you will not get the job done using basic hand tools...

 

Do you have a good size vice?? I've always had luck that way...

 

 

You ain't lyin'!!! I got a spare carrier, axle, and hubs off my 01, the one I took off is just goin' in the junk pile.

well did ya ever get it apart, or did ya scrap it?

i was just curious if you did get it and what you ended up doing?

 

mine was a bitch i didnt use heat

but

2 guys at 190# and 160# on a 4 ft 1in dia. steel bar a pressing fixture to swallow axle .....

 

it would not have come apart :beer: :banghead: :banghead:

Yeah, you were correct. I just ditched it, it's behind my shed for now. My buddy has a service station in norethern Jersey, so I might bring it up there. The sprocket hub is kinda messed up from beating on it with the hammer, and I'm pretty sure the bearings are shot. But it will be junk for now.
