I'm getting ready for a trip to Glamis, I am getting a set of paddles for the banshee, but I am bringin a 300ex and Blaster for friends to ride.

They both have good knobby tires on em, I'm just wondering how well they will do in the sand, I don't want them to be hating life, but if it only slows em down a bit, then they can deal with it.

What do you think?

There is definitely a big difference between the knobbies and paddles. But if your friends' alternative is not riding, then it is totally worth it to bring the bikes out. They will just have to keep their speed and momentum up going through the dunes. Climbing will be a chore on the bigger stuff and the bikes will obviously be working harder. But, for instance, by brother in law has a Honda 250 three wheeler without paddles and he lets his friends use that on dune rides all the time. So, in short, your friends will be fine, they just won't be able to tackle the larger stuff so well. But judging by the bikes they have to ride, that shouldn't really be an issue. They will still enjoy themselves.

By the way, when is your trip?

i wouldnt be worrying about no knobbies, i would be worrying about them not having any power to get around ..with those bikes

They should be ok, as long as they dont stop alot, because YOU will be the one helping them get out of the sand :whistling: haha..have a nice trip

Thanks guys,

Knobbies it is! I'll just tell em to ride close so they can take turns pulling each other out!

I will arrive in Glamis on Jan 2nd, just getting everything ready now. Not sure where I'm gonna camp yet. Is anyone else gonna be dunin it up in glamis the week of the 2nd-6th?

:ermm: Watch the temps on those bieks too, I had my Raptor out at Coral Pink a few years back, and it got way way way too hot riding razrs in the sand. Also, don't dump the clutch or you'll be digging it out. I didn't like the way the Raptor rode in the sand with knobbies, but I can't say I had a bad time.

If they are your bikes, as stated above keep an eye on them overheating. Without paddles the bike will over-rev rather quickly and if done continuously, the only bike you may have after the trip will be the one you are sittin' on.................

Have fun though...........

Dont worry run the knobs, but your bike will get HOT!

It works no problem, you wont win any races, but it will slide like crazy!
