csrmel Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 look at this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-4-6-8-10-...046939850QQrdZ1 thats a hell of alot cheaper than paying $600 for a brand name. i know the box tubing isnt as strong as round tubing of the same thickness, so they probably have to use thicker (heavier) tubing to maintain strength, but damn for a casual duner/dragger, could this work ok? actually, theres alot of sub $200 swingers on ebay. [email protected] Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 the greenies swingarm is from " swingarmshop" on ebay . The ones you showed do look very good in the pictures, if you receive what is pictured , then i guess your okay. But dont forget to take into consideration there are scammers on ebay. Quote

87_shee Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 I have a +2 swinger from checkered flag and i have 0 complaints about it so far. I ride pits and hills and road most of the time but it has held up just fine for the 6 months I've had it. I think it would be fine for the average casual rider. But I have heard many bad things about the from other ppl on here...so maybe i just got lucky  Quote

racer Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 i know the box tubing isnt as strong as round tubing of the same thickness thats inaccurate. square, rectangular actually is stronger than round, its just that round is of uniform strength which makes it good for most applications. in reality the rectangular tubing, when oriented in the proper direction, is a much better choice for these types of loads. since the only major loading a swinger sees is up and down, you make the longer sides of the rectangle go parallel to these forces. ie up and down. square is heavier, but if youre building a balls to the wall drag bike im sure you wont be buying a no name arm off ebay anyway.
