LiftdT4R Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Forgot about this, and then remembered when I was reading Clymer today. Older shees also had ?ring nuts? instead of hex nuts on the axle. For some reason my 2001 had ring nuts(I knwo they are from way way before), somebody must have lost the hex nuts and had them laying around. They are a BITCH to get off. You have to like hit them with a punch, to try to break them loose. Weird, just thought I'd mention, not sure what years had this, and Clymer said Yamaha doesnt sell them anymore. Quote
dutch350 Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 The swing arm & carrier on an 87 were different from my 96. carrier was thiner looking and has 4 short bolts instead of 2 long ones to mount to the swingarm. Quote
