wood Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 not tring to stir up anything,i guess my point i was tring to get at is a banshee is like a porsche or something and the other quads are camaros or along thoses lines, and ya i have heard people talking or joking about 450's.to me the banshee is the fastest quad out, just seems like the playing field is a little uneven. rocketboy Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Us 4 strokers are making your $1000 dollar worth of mods look slow....Ya I know we have to spend twice that to keep up but its fun smoken the 4mills judging by your mod list you have alot more than 2 grand in your bike and for 2 grand of mods in a 4 poke 450cc they arent making anywhere near 100 true rear wheel hp like a 421 cheetah cub 4 mill makes or even near 80 like alot of oem 4mills make .... and if you are your are its not doing so reliabily. if theres ported 4mills losing then its because their bike isnt setup right or the rider is a dipshit. csrmel Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 i think ya got it backwards. a banshee is like a muscle car. its fast in a straight line but doesnt handle as well as other quads. a 450r would be more like a porsche. handles better than a shee, not as much raw power. also cost more too. and costs more to mod. wood Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 pretty new to the computer thing so things dont always come uot right,so i guess what i am tring to say is that from the start the banshee is in a class above the rest, there is no other quad with twin cyn. twin carbs. & twin exst.so from the begeianing the banshee has always been faster. Bro, I don't mean to give you a hard time, but I still don't see where your coming from. Stock for stock, banshees arent that fast, a stock 450 will most likely beat a stock banshee provided the riders are the same skill. So from the beginning it really isn't that great. There are a lot of arguments for and against the banshee, all of which have been covered, so I'm at a loss here. Quote
DUNE-A-TIC Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Keep the minds wandering, every time I see "4 poke" I wonder to myself "what rock are you living under"???The Banshee has stayed in the top of the straight-line for yeaaaaars,no doubt. They feel the heat with the current builds though and the aftermarket is zooming with answers, why?Because they know the potential was not met when they started getting beat.Threads like this are fun, they let us in on the "real world of racing"and keep those that think you have to "mix oil in your gas to beat my ass"to another level of respect.I don't care who you are you will get beat by a four stroke one day.If all you do is talk them down from your keyboard, well your a fool.......... Don't mistake my opinion, still love the Banshee..but your not dealing with warriors with a piston or a 300EX with a pipe anymore.............Those days are gone!! Dune Quote
wood Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 i think i said it early that someone probaly answered my question, money for money the banshee is easier to make faster,i was on the mod part of the HQ thought i caught a chat about smokein somebody.so last weekend i raced my buddys 450 it wasnt to much of a race.his 450 is stock, ialso rode his 450 before and like someone in this chat said that a stock 450 would beat a stock banshee, and thats how i felt that was the case,i also forgot that a lot of you guys ride the sand alot more than dirt.and after the bottom line,a race is a race no matter who you race. No affence dud your 4 poker sounds great! !But the fact is $1000 aginst $1000?? YOU DONT STAND A CHANCE! ! Quote
dalegoldston Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Man around here unless you are saying the Banshee is the by god best thing in the world it stirs up crap. I really dont understand how someone can be so opinionated about a past time. I like to ride and make it better when I can but I wouldn't argue mines faster than yours. Especially over the internet. Dune Well the advancement in 2 stroke technology stopped long ago, so yes 4 strokes will narrow the gap, more often exceed it, on the OEM playing field. BUT, as long as the aftermarket company's continue to make the advancements for the 2 strokes and continue to improve and refine cylinder, pistons, cranks, cases etc... it will be a long time before 4 strokes are at the top rungs of drag racing consistently, as the 2 strokes (banshee's) have done for years. It will take the likes of fireball racing with building a 1300+ cc Suzuki motor with nitrous, alcohol and a turbo to be competitive among the best 2 strokes and 100 grand in equipment. Not saying 4 strokes can't do it, it's just a huge difference in cost invested to reach the same goal. Quote

Yes I got more than 2 grand in mods and was making 96 reliable gas hp that last time on the dyno. Things have since changed since then....I guess there bikes are not setup right....I would'nt go so far as to call them dipshits, they are friends. All my new lectron carbs, ported intakes did'nt make the difference I needed with the DS so I stepped it up some and they went out and got the 4mil's. They will be back with improvements too....it all in fun. Quote

I am proud of every dollar I have spent. And if the 4mil riders take to much time spinning they are not hard to beat. I can, and usually do, catch them at the end of 300ft. Any longer and usually easilly past them but not all of them Quote

That is one of the main reason I'm still on 2-strokes, bike and quad. Quote
