I am having some serious problems getting my clutch bolt off(32mm nut)..I have been using bigred350x's guide up until this point.. The bottom end is already out of the chassis and i'm having a hard time from getting it to stop spinning..I tried the advice of binding up the chain against the case but it just seems to be putting to much pressure on the cases for my likeing..Is there any other way? i would just put it back on the chassis but the chassis is stripped currently waiting on paint..Any ideas or should i just wait till i can bolt it back up to the chassis?

Thanks, Letha

if your replaceing the crank and dont care about putting this pressure on it... get some cardboard and fold it over a few times wedge it in the crank as it spins and it will lock it still then put the motor on the ground and step on the nut and it will losen up, thats how i did mine... also you can put a long extension in the top of the rods if your jugs are off and the pistons are removed... and last but not least do the same thing as the crank but in the gears from the crank to the basket to lock it still and break the nut lose any of those ways work well.

once you get it off clean the gears of any cardboard that got pulled off and your good

I put mine is gear and held down the rear brake and it broke loose. You can also buy a clutch holder as well that will keep it locked in place

In the future you can take a penny and put it between the clutch basket gear and the pto (crank drive gear) it will hold it. The penny is soft and will not hurt the gears. Old tom at mountain performance clued me in on that may years ago
