BigRed350x Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 If its any consolation, the transmission problem is probably an easy fix with a new shift cam adjustment bolt / mechanism. The old one is probably worn and its just not grabbing the cogs right. Like $45 or so for new OEM parts that you will need if I remember correctly. That thing down in the bottom left hand corner of the case. Its attached to the shift rod that your shifter lever bolts to, and the other end of it rests on your shift star. That's probably the part you need, and its a good idea to get the adjustment bolt too, it gets worn out and gets crappy. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c258/Big...02/a7603636.jpg Pull your clutch cover and check to see if your backlash in that mechanism matches the recommended specs of your clymer manual. Hope that helps, and sorry to hear you got scammed man. We will help you get it going right! Quote

szewczyd Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Add this guy to the list :: See that thing is when I sold the quad it was fine, I owned it for about two weeks total and drove it twice. The day I got it and one other day. Had a guy come look at it when I put it forsale and he loved it put needed to sell his other quad first. Two days later no driving time on it I sold it to him, the axle nuts must not have been tightened down when I got it and yes one flew off and I noticed when I was going to meet this guy and told him about it. I smoked my buddies banshee with it and put probably 1 hr on it in the time I owned it. Quote
platinumjason Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 (edited) Well you know where he lives right? Edited October 24, 2006 by platinumjason Quote
rriggs Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 hey jason, get your banshee all back together? you coming out to silver lake with us to freeze this weekend man? Quote
platinumjason Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Nah, sadly my cylinders are still being ported at this time. I was thinking they should be done sometime soon, he said 2 week turn around. I will definatly be there opening weekend though coming up next season. I was pretty upset to hear discussion of a speed limit being put in place for all of the dunes so I was prepared to sell off my Shee to get a crotch rocket. Looks like I wont have to sell the shee now as everyone said it was rumor but I may get a crotch rocket still  Quote
