headsup Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 (edited) I had a drag race with a 450 today, he was stating that he has never lost in any race he has been in. i beat him and took his cherry, but in doing so i missed 4th and bogged 5th, and still beat. oh yeah, my quad is 35 lbs heavier & i am 65 lbs heavier than him, so lets just say i was carrying 100 lbs more than he was.my & is i am going to a lonestar +4" swingarm, i would like to know how much motor i can bring up before dumping the clutch with the new setup.very diffucult to keep the nose down with the stock unit, and i'm reluctant to bring up lots of rpm's.forgot tosay irun 320 main jets & plugs look good. If you race on dirt or desert. Best way for a drag race is starting in 2nd gear, I have a trail tech computor on mine, full throttle11000rpm and let the clucth go, its a killer. Dont do it on tar road or hard surfaces. Banshee 1st gear is to slow for dragging on stock gearing. Quote
headsup Posted October 23, 2006 Author Report Posted October 23, 2006 Glad to see you beat him :thumbsup: :laugh: What are your mods right now? mods are race barrel 30 milled head, p&p,vf3 reeds, t5's, air intake,timing plate,race fuel,13th front sprocket,skat trak 9 paddles,sand only, wet & dry.i tried 2nd gear launch in dry sand & got to much bog, but still beat 2 650 ds's 6 out of 6. when i hit 4th gear the shee was gone. Do you guys ever see yourselves getting burnt a little in the whoops, though? Like at olds for example, the whoops seem to really toss me if I'm on the throttle... Wasn't a problem before I started putting some engine mods together, but now that I have more juice.. and I do have stock suspension. Could be I just don't know how to ride, this is only my second season riding my shee.. Quote
