375hp banshees Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 snap ring wont stay on put new gear and snapring on did'nt help I messed mine up good on my old '87 'had to grind the snap ring groove deeper & I think I put A smaller ID & OD ring on it . used A thin disc blade on my dremil. (dont know how long it lasted though it got stolen soon after) Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 My idler gear shaft had the end welded up so it couldn't be removed. When I rebuilt my engine I replaced the shaft with a new one $80 @ powersportspro. Quote
Yaxy Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Are you using the right tool to put the ring on? If so you may have a defective clip. Either way I would not put the clip on more than once. After that is is stretched and should be tossed. Chris Quote
