badshee Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 yeah they both played great and both deserved to be there.. but we will just have to see who the better team is startin on saturday..... good luck to both teams  Quote
dajogejr Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 We got a new stadium a few years ago, and have still managed to stink up the league until this year. (yeah, they lost over 100 games just a few short years ago...) Should be a good series, but...if the Tigers play the exact same way as they did agains the yanks and A's, I don't think there is a team in baseball right now that can beat them. Our starting rotation is absolutely sick.... Quote
STLBILL Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 (edited) Well, I figure the Tiger's are either going to be rusty or rested. I'm hoping for rusty... :-) It is supposed to rain here tomorrow night. There will be plenty of people from here tuning in on the TV I can guarantee that. When is Game 2 in St. Louis? Sunday? EDIT: On the stadium thing... it was a tough deal here. They first wanted the taxpayers to pick up the tab. Why on Earth would people over by Oklahoma want to pay a dime for the new stadium? It is a 4-5 hour drive. They'd be lucky to go to one game in their lives. Anyway the damn thing is right next to I-64. I think it is too close. A determined terrorist could drive a car off the Eastboard lanes into the stadium (highway is way up high there). The ballpark village is supposed to revitalize downtown. It has yet to be built. blak banshee Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 should be an entertaining series. Tigers sucked for so long, I am pulling for them. I usually root for the American league team anyway, even if its not my yanks. Quote

When is Game 2 in St. Louis? Sunday? Game 1 tomorrow in Detroit. Game 2 Sunday in Detroit. next 3 games in St. Louis, then 6 and 7 in Detroit. We have home field advantage.... Quote
Master of Faster Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 I wouldn't really say we have home field advantage, because 2 in Detroit and 2 in St. Louis is all its gonna take  Quote
STLBILL Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) I don't know that bunt over the left field wall Just now looked pretty good to me... Oh and whatdaya' know they can roll it down the other side too... :-) Oh and what's this? Center with one of those baserunner things involved? My goodness... :-) EDIT: My bad. Pujols homer'ed into right in the 3rd - not center. St. Louis is scoring on Detroit so fast I can't keep it all straight... Edited October 22, 2006 by STLBILL Quote
STLBILL Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 What is the subject of this thread again? My screen is kind of fuzzy. Quote
dajogejr Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Detroit is a very compasionate city....we feel bad it took you 7 games to beat the Mets, and just barely.... So...we figured we'd give you one to keep it interesting... :yelrotflmao: Quote
STLBILL Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Well, St. Louis is a very accomodating city. We will be happy to accept Detroit's gift if that makes them feel like they don't suck. I have to say I was surprised. You guys were making them out like Detroit was infallable. They must have forgot how to play baseball while we were going easy on the Mets. :yelrotflmao: Quote

So...we figured we'd give you one to keep it interesting... :yelrotflmao: Yeah, Detroit definitely gave us that one. Thanks! We didn't have to work hard at all for it. You guys are bringing the same rusty busch leaguers to bat tonight I hope, right? Don't worry, we'll hand you your ass back after we're done spanking it. Quote
G-MC Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I'm definately not enjoying facing Kenny Rogers, but I'm liking the matchups for #3-4. Quote
Bill Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Tigers shut them down,Rogers is on fire!!!! Quote
STLBILL Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Okay, well chalk one up for Detroit. Just remember the next three games are in St. Louis. So far this definately has not been the blow out promised by Detroit fans... The Cubs beat us better than Detroit did tonight! Quote
badshee Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 yeah i though detroit would sweep them but i have always liked a kick ass 6-7 game series, if it goes to that.... Quote
