houseclearer Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 What is the best plug to use for standard dirt racing and riding, i use a NGK B9ES, and what kind of gap should i be running thanks, james Quote
dajogejr Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 BR8ES....all day long. 9 is too cold, you don't need that plug unless you're running alky... .028 gap. Quote
nunyabinness Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 does anybody know what the autolite plug number is? a friend of mine had the cross reference number but i never got it from him before i moved. right now i use the b8es also, but i have a blaster not a banshee. yet. Quote
RIPPEN Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 I run B8EGV's in mine, they seem to be more resistant to fouling and have been a good plug.. I wouldn't run any other plug than a NGK. RIPPEN Quote
bansheerage Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 NGK all the way. autolite and all the other ones just burnt out/fouled out way to quick when i gave then a try. Quote

I wouldn't run any other plug than a NGK. RIPPEN I run the BR8EIX for the same reason. I put my airbox lid on to clean, and am constantly forgetting to take it back off afterwords. I haven't managed to foul these iridium plugs yet, going on 10 months on 1 set. Quote
Ducman Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 I had the BR8EIX plugs in for around 50 hours and they started having a wierd miss at WOT in the upper rpms. The plugs looked fine but I put a new set of BR8ES in and the miss went away. I have heard others say they had this miss at seemingly low hours with the EIX plug as well. At $9 ea that sucks that they went bad like that. The BR8EGV is almost the same exact plug as the EIX except it has a platnum electrode instead of iridium and I have hear that it doesn't go bad like the iridium. I'm just sticking with the elcheapo B8ES and changing them often now. Quote
