mouse Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 i shattered my clutch basket earlyer in the summer and cleaned out the moter and now i am lossing my clutch oil like allof it in about 3 hours i am not leaking any where. i am burning it . My left pipe smokes really bad like when i trail ride it looks like the wood behind me were on fire. I was told the the seal around the clutch shaft was bad. do i have to split the cases to fix that. and i pulled the plug that smokes really bad and it was full of oil and the good side was dry thanks  Quote
Ruko Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 If you're burning the tranny oil that means it's getting into you crankcase, so it's your crank seal that's leaking. To change a crank seal you need to split the cases. The crank seal has a little bump around it that fitts into a groove in the case so you can't just pull it out and press a new one in, the cases gota come apart. Quote
dajogejr Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Yup...what he said. Odd...though...normally, when the seal leaks and starts burning tranny fluid, it's on the right side, not the left ... Mouse....you'd be wise to stop riding that bike now. The longer you ride it, the more $$ it's gonna cost to fix it! Quote

dajogejr Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Is there a reason you're going with Twister instead of a Wiseco Hot Rod? don't get me wrong, the Twister is a GREAT Unit, but...it's twice the price of a hot rod crank.... That extra 400 or 500 can easily be spent elsewhere.... Quote
mouse Posted October 11, 2006 Author Report Posted October 11, 2006 theres no reason on the twister crank i have been ording my parts from on-dunes performance and thats what they carry and have been talk to i want to say ron and thats what they put in there banshee. but i will check into the hotrod crank. sorry i didnt read this sooner been out in colorado getting a house and a job. dajogejr Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Congrats on the house and Job (I hope... ) Don't get me wrong, twister does in fact make a very, very nice product. If money is no issue...or you have to have the very best, that would be it in my opinion. However.....for about 1/2 the price....a Re-Welded Hotrods is a nice crank. I like the Maxload or TZ bearing for the PTO side, too. Just like having it re-welded, it's very good insurance. I'm sure 400 or 500 bucks could be spent elsewhere on other goodies...if ya know what I mean... Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 yep i wouldnt waste money on the twister..save the money and buy some other go fast shit.. Quote
