jkross Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 All - I'd like to start by saying thanks for all the good advice I recieved from my last post. I really appreciate it. New problem: I've figured out I have a bad Petcock valve. Basically, it's always on, and gas leaks out the overflow / drain tubes coming off the bowls - slow but steady. So, when I fix the valve and turn the fuel on - I'm still going to leak gas. I don't know that much about carbs, but could this be a problem with the needles not sealing? Thanks all - take it easy. bansheeseat$$ Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Yeah it could be your needle seat or posibly your floats are to high. Quote
Bill Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Eather your floats are stuck or the shut off seal is bad.To find out if the floats are stuck tap on the bowl with the handle of A screw driver. If that dont work take the carbs off, take the bottom off,and then hold the carb upright and hook the fuel line up to it.before you turn the fuel on hold the floats all the way up,it should not flow unless the floats drop. Animalman294 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 First things first, you need to fix the shut off valve then fix the float problem. If teh valve is off and the bowl is full (or you take the bottom off and push the float up and fuel still leaks out) you have problems with both valve and carbs.......... Quote
