cdi, whats the difference

I have a 95 banshee and i need a cdi box and have been looking around and it says the 95 year and 96 is different than the 97+ years. What would be the difference. Its all the same motor isnt it? Whats the most that would happen if i put a newer one in?

dont do it man. you might open up a can of worms in you electrical system....electrical problems to my are the worst. Oh and about you question, Im not sure of the difference.

im not 100% positive, but i do belive that all the cdi's are the same... i got a 2000 banshee and got a 2001 Dynatek ignition ... when i called dyna they said the only differance was the lead for a tach (or how ever its spelled) and the programer lead.

plugs plugs plugs its all about the plugs the 87-94 same, 95-96 different,97-up same the plugs are different the cdi is the same

Contact Ricky Stator they make adaptors that let you use newer year stators on older Banshee's. I don't know their number but google it.
