verk86z Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I bought a set of carbs off ebay this past winter for my shee. The were listed as 30mm pwk. I was in a hurry to get parts and start ripping this spring, so I just assumed that they were keihin carbs. My bad! They were sent with a bent idle screw, not a good sign to begin with. I emailed the guy and he said that he would send one out the following day. Nothing for two weeks. I emailed him again, and he said that they should be there any day. Nothing for another week. I persisted to email again and got no reply. I finally gave up trying to get a hold of this dude and sent my whole bike into a mechanic to see if he could solve the problem for me. Results are in! There is absolutely no info to be found on these carbs (YSN I believe is the brand) and the float bowls are so tweaked, it would be a cold day in Hell that my bike would ever run right with these carbs now. Stay away from these carbs, spend a few extra bucks and make sure they are the right brand! Quote
jbooker82 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 If probably could have turned it in to pay pal if you wanted to. I dont know if you still can since you had them a while. Somthing being listed as PWK should be a Keihin part. That is false advertisement. Quote
Shee-Male Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Myself and a couple of people I know run these carbs and I have had no troubles at all, other than the inlet flange is larger than the stock mikuni's. The carbs for the most part a interchangeable with Keihn parts and jets, and jettin is a snap with the o-ring float bowl. Mine came jetted completely wrong, but after a few changes the worked out slick, and very smooth power delivery. If you over tighten the float bowl screw, you will warp it, that goes for pretty much anything, I'm sure you could lap them with some sand paper to get them flat. Before I purchased mine, I emailed 5 people on the CPW's feedback list that had purchased the carbs to get their feedback on their experiance with them, and it was all good. But I guess there's got to be one in the bunch, sorry it had to be you. I hope it works out for you in the end. I'm always around if you have a ? on them. Quote

He never mentioned who he bought them from, sounds like they are used carbs from someone else. The CPW carbs are keihin bodies without the pwk casting on them. Quote
