christ6 Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 just brought my new tirekit home (itp 10# c-series rims and raz'r tires) i went and picked it up unassembled cause they said it would take them a week before they could get to puttin them together and i know i can get that done at any tire shop around. but i dont wanna wait untill tmr if i even get off work in time so i tryed myself and its tougher than it seems especially without any tools, managed to seat the valve stem in the rim and thats about all anyone got any tips for this or should i just be patient and not wreck my new rims and take them to a tire shop? also do atv tires need to be balanced? if so theres no point in me doing it at all Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 id say take them to any tier shop and have them pop them on with the machine but if you really want to do it your self get a set of the tire irons and some dish soap... put it on the bead of the tire and wheel and a lil man stregth and youll get the first bead over.. its the second one that willbe the bitch! dajogejr Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 If you have tire irons already, try it yourself. If not...get it done. IMO, the hardest point is not getting it on the rim, rather sealing the bead. No, they don't need to be balanced. You can seat the bead by using a tow strap and cranking down a little around the tread of the tire...then there's the old lighter fluid trick.. Well, never mind that last one. Honestly, pay someone a few bucks to do it. It'll be worth it versus having smashed fingers and a busted ass... Quote
crazybluerider Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 My local les schwab did it for 8 bucks a tire. Ive done it the hard way but at that price it isnt worth my time Quote
