I'm having a hard time getting an accurate reading from my micrometer. I have been getting around 65.17-65.20. But I can get it to read almost whatever I want it to.

nah not wear the bore smaller but wear of the piston actually taking the thickness down maybe? I know a friend of mine had a old ass IT175 that had the original top end that had wicked piston slop from it.

That is actually a measurement of the bore itself, should I be measuring the piston?

65.2mm is .050in overbore

every .020in over is approx .5mm

If you have a decent amount of time on the piston and bore job, probably better measure the piston. Are you trying to figure out what bore you are at, or if you are over tolerance?

What bore I'm at. The piston measures 65.00.

Stock is 64mm 1 over or .020 is 65 so you are just a little over 1.

I believe .020 over is 64.5mm I am thinking that .5mm = .020.

Yep, I thought so just checked 1mm=.040 soooo .5mm=.020

I have done enough topends I shouldnt have second guessed it.
