BigRed350x Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 I always forget this. Stock is 64mm 1 over or .020 is 65 so you are just a little over 1. Quote
broke Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 I'm having a hard time getting an accurate reading from my micrometer. I have been getting around 65.17-65.20. But I can get it to read almost whatever I want it to. Quote
platinumjason Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Hmm Id say its probably the 65.25 bore but can a piston wear that much to knock it down that much? Quote
broke Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 The piston can wear the bore smaller? I will have to try again in the morning. Quote
platinumjason Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 nah not wear the bore smaller but wear of the piston actually taking the thickness down maybe? I know a friend of mine had a old ass IT175 that had the original top end that had wicked piston slop from it. Quote
broke Posted August 1, 2006 Author Report Posted August 1, 2006 That is actually a measurement of the bore itself, should I be measuring the piston? Quote
sheefreak Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 If you have a decent amount of time on the piston and bore job, probably better measure the piston. Are you trying to figure out what bore you are at, or if you are over tolerance? Quote
odaen Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 That is actually a measurement of the bore itself, should I be measuring the piston? 65.2mm is .050in overbore every .020in over is approx .5mm Quote
broke Posted August 6, 2006 Author Report Posted August 6, 2006 If you have a decent amount of time on the piston and bore job, probably better measure the piston. Are you trying to figure out what bore you are at, or if you are over tolerance? What bore I'm at. The piston measures 65.00. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 For future reference, I always refer to this site. Use the drop down to see what mm/inch measurement means what.... http://www.magicracing.com/Wiseco-Piston-K..._p_133-135.html Quote
GYTWYPT Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 Stock is 64mm 1 over or .020 is 65 so you are just a little over 1. I believe .020 over is 64.5mm I am thinking that .5mm = .020. Yep, I thought so just checked 1mm=.040 soooo .5mm=.020 I have done enough topends I shouldnt have second guessed it. Quote
