I was wondering if any one here has bought the POWER NOW valves that go in line with the carbs. Not sure if I have th ename right but it the things that are circular and have a piece of metal going horizonally throught the center of it. They claim better air flow and lower and higher RPMS which in turn give more HP etc. I wonder with the $100 price tag on them if they are really worth all that.

never heard of em.. probbly the best invention since the "boost bottle" :baseball_w00t: jk that reminds me i took my 4mm cub down at the closest bike shop to get a chain sized up and the guy was checkin out my bike givin me compliments yadda yadda and hes all " ya need to get a boost bottle" i just laughed in his face he got kinda butthurt .. and tried to charge me 120 for the whole chain i was like ok.. :baseball_getlost: and gave him 110 .. jackass

$100 for that damned thing. and you probably need 2 of them for a banshee. reminds me of one of those tornado fuel savers.

Exactly! Some guy posted about these not that long ago, and I said the exact same thing. It's also kind of like the "fuel economy" gauges they had back in the seventies. All it was was a vacuum gauge that told morons when they were stomping on the gas, to let off. Gimmick...

I don't think those are worth the packaging they come in, I'd get rid of them :flamewar:

Ya know, I've wondered about those things too - "scary fast" oooo :yankyank: . Honestly the theory behind it does make sense. BUT...Of coarse a banshee requires two of them, they also make some now that go in the intake manifold side of the aperture too. So at about a hundred bucks a pop, one for each side, X two carbs = $400 bucks!!! for little pieces of f'n sheet metal? GIMMICK!!! Somebody is laughing their way all the way to the bank. They must think we're all suckers.

Sell them for $10 each, and I'd think about it. $100 each, forget it!

i wouldnt even think about it for $10. i guess in theory these things could do some small work. i have seen reed cages which incorporate a similar looking design, but come on, for $100 each, thats just rediculous. youd be better off buying something which actually makes a difference for $200, like some tyres, or getting the head shaved and other minor engine work.

yeah the power now valves work awesome, big time horsepower gains, can really tell they are working. only 1 draw back, you have to get a tighter powerband, i went with the blue one :yankyank:

Those Power Now things are junk. I know two different people who have tried them and it made NO difference at all. I borrowed a set from a guy that had them and I didn't notice ANY difference at all. If anything it was worse, since you have more crap in the way of airflow into the carb. Spend your money elsewhere...

I kinda figured as much....I was wondering how a piece of straight, flat metal was supposed to help the performance. It wasn't twisted or tweaked in any way to manipulate the airflow into the carbs.
