94BANSHEE Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 hi is there a big difference between these cdi boxes? one is a little more and says "rev". they say it reva 1000rpms faster. is it worth getting or just the stock normal one? http://cgi.ebay.ca/YAMAHA-Banshee-350-High...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.ca/Yamaha-YFZ350-Banshee-H...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
watkins Posted June 17, 2006 Report Posted June 17, 2006 You would be better off just keeping the stock CDI and getting an adjustable timing plate. Quote

Aaron.D Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Do you have any mod's right now. If so what. Depending on what your looking to do there is a CDI made for it. From stock to 1k and some even more over, Right to a fully adjustable. They are some $$$$. I.E. Dyna FS. No need for a timing plate and the hassle two switch toggle control from one timing curve instantly to a number. But on the other hand there are a few cheep ones. Like $100.00. Don't know much about those. sorry. But Love the FS. Good luck keep us in the loop. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Banshees dont have a rev limiter so i dont know what a cdi is gonna change. As for the Dyna FS im sorry unless you have nothing else to buy i think its kinda stupid. Shaved head 50$ timing plate 35$ you get the point there are alot better things to get than that. Shit get porting if you gonna spend that kinda money. All in all for alot less money you can get way more power save somthing like that for when you already have all the other stuff. (porting, stroker, cubs, so on so forth) Quote
Aaron.D Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 Yaa, I deff hear what your saying. I dont really know how long it takes to adjust a timing key so its a lot of cash for sure$$. It works great though, I can say that for sure. I really never switch it much anymore. Once I found the setting I liked. It would be more worth the money if at this point I used a laptop to dial in curves and what not. Just a lot of work to go out and ride. I have a port and polish 40 over. Its just a head, carb's and a cheetah from hear. Quote

(porting, stroker, cubs, so on so forth) my self and polish can verify the dyna fs works 100% ..... i have one on my bike and on stock curve he was STOMPING me.... went to the curve 3 and made a HUGE differance... i gained about 6 bikes on him from all our prior runs.. had much more bottom end and was pulling 5th gear up the same hill i was only able to pull 4th on with the stock curve.... Well thats nice to hear never herd of them working that well. As far as mods tho i think a shaved head and timing advance would be equal. Maybe im wrong but then again i wouldnt really know haha Quote
