Ok i just got finished redoing my bike. I had the motor professionally rebuilt by trinity. I stripped down the frame and powdercoated it. I went to start it last night and the damn thing idled so high that it sound like it was running in the powerband in neutral with no throttle at all. What could cause this. Is it jetting or streching the trottle cable wrong. Or just need to adjust the screws on side of carb. Give me some help.

Yeah, take the air filter out and take a peak.

maybe the slides of your carb are inserted the wrong way.

Also make sure the choke tube is connected between the carbs.

For all that thought the slides were in backwards this was not the problem. This is originally what i thought it was. So i checked that isnt right. I still have the TORs on my quad. The choke tube is hooked up. Is there anything else like a dirty carb that could cause this problem??

1st are the slides going all the way down? 2nd did you disconnect the tors plugs? If you disconnect the plugs, you will have trouble with the idle. What size jets you have in there?

well guys i have 27.5 pilots and 300 mains i am in missouri. Jetting has never been a problem in the passed. I talked to my mechanic and he said to check the reeds. So i will do that. The tors is non existant. I have mikuni 34mm carbs. The throttle cable has tonnes of free room the slides are totally in and still the same. I was told air leak was the most probable cause. Tomorrow i am going to make an order of new reeds and seals for the intake and see if that works. Anyone got any ideas for reeds what to go with and what not to go with.

Easy: V-force!

Edit; you should still make sure there is plenty of gas getting to the carb!

Could be an air leak making it run lean. Check the base gasket too.

My v-force 2 reeds were leaking on the corners (rounded off) and it was allmost inpossable to start. I put the stock reeds in and it was fine, i ended up with new v-force 3 reeds because the replacement reeds for the 2's were allmost as much as buying the new 3's
