4everwantedbanshee Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 i always thought that u run a tank of gas on idle. then run it thorugh the second tank no mor then 3/4 throttle. after that run the shit out of it. thats what i always did. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 I read the page from top to bottom and i must say i agree with him 100% and for all you people who disagree go get a book on motors and start reading =D Quote
csrmel Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 ok heres some REAL WORLD facts. many a porsche and corvette (and i would be supprised if other makers did not do this too) run each brand spakin new engine at wide open throttle on a dyno to make sure the engine is putting out its rated power before selling it to a customer in a car. i motomans instructions were really bad, why do these high end cars get the same treatment. dawarriorman Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 "I could sit here and write pages of stuff explaining the physics behind what is going on in the motor, but frankly I don't care what you think that much. Go ahead, warm up your fresh rebuild and rev the piss out the motor." no need to explain save ur breath expecially coming from a woman who wrapped her `shee around a tree What the fuck is wrong with u ? No reason to turn into a bitch I'm not saying I'm just gonna rev the fuck outta my engine which is not necessary there's no teeth on the rings the cyl. act as the file to shape the rings smartass "If you take it slow, how are the teeth not going to break off eventually? What is going to happen in that period of time that you break it in slow that will keep it from ever wearing down smooth? " Oh they will wear down eventually but not evenly as motoman is saying if u try to break it in slow the rings will not push out 360 degrees evenly from not enough cyl pressure when that bike is idling or goin slow as again Motoman says. If ur doin it ur way diff parts of the rings are gonna be touching more than others and its gonna shape the rings akwardly 518158[/snapback] Hell I was just trying to help you out, but damn, you get your panties all in a knot. DemonShee Posted May 21, 2006 Author Report Posted May 21, 2006 Whats a good fuel mix to run? I have been running Klotz R50 sythetic before the build. I was thinking run a few tanks full with mineral oil mix but not sure what ratio to run? 20:1 maybe on the first tank? Quote
ssanddemon Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Personally, I would run a lesser grade of oil (like Yamalube) at like 32 or 40:1 for the first couple of tanks. Synth. will likely be too slick to promote good break-in. Quote
